A friend gave this boy to me because she felt that she wasn't giving him enough attention. One of his hands is broken, but I have a replacement hand, so I get to learn how to restring him this weekend. He has a wig, but I'm uncertain if I'm going to keep it or replace it. I also need to come up with a name and figure out where he will live, as he's far too big for my dollhouse. I am in love with his lavender eyes.
Ugh. So I'm making most everyone's gifts this year. Fun idea, yes, but lots and lots of work. However I have been giving people books as well--is it tactless to give used books? Or is that okay? I don't mind used books but others might.

Alcaldesa Reginato visitó recinto junto al presidente Piñera.
Para dar el puntapié inicial en el proceso de remodelación del estadio Sausalito de Viña del Mar, el presidente Sebastián Piñera acompañado por la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato, realizó una visita al principal recinto deportivo de la ciudad para presentar el diseño virtual del proyecto, que considera una inversión de 9.500 millones de pesos.
En la oportunidad, el Primer Mandatario confirmó que próximamente se llamará a licitación pública para la ejecución de esta obra, la que debería iniciarse en octubre próximo, y adelantó que el nuevo Sausalito podría estar terminado en agosto de 2013.
Esto permitirá contar con un remodelado estadio municipal que tendrá una capacidad de 25 mil personas, y será construido con estándares FIFA, reafirmando la postulación de Viña del Mar a ser una de las subsedes para la Copa América 2015, que se realizará en nuestro país.
A esta actividad asistieron diversas autoridades, entre ellas, el ministro Secretario General de Gobierno, Andrés Chadwick; el subsecretario de Deportes, Gabriel Ruiz-Tagle; el Intendente Regional, Raúl Celis; el gobernador Pablo Zúñiga; los senadores Lily Pérez y Francisco Chahuán, y el presidente de la ANFP, Sergio Jadue.
También estuvieron presente los concejales Macarena Urenda, Pamela Hödar, Jaime Varas, Rodrigo Kopaitic y Tomás de Rementería, y el presidente de Everton, Antonio Bloise, entre otros.
La alcaldesa Reginato destacó el inicio del proceso de remodelación del estadio Sausalito, al señalar que “su construcción permitirá, entre otros objetivos, cumplir con las exigencias de los grandes torneos internacionales, algo fundamental para una ciudad turística y una región que se nutre y complementa del posicionamiento y atractivo que posee Viña del Mar, tanto en el ámbito nacional como extranjero, además de ofrecer óptimas condiciones para venir en familia a disfrutar del buen fútbol. Junto con ello, consolida la gestión deportiva municipal, que mediante una inversión sin precedentes en recintos para el deporte, y un extenso y variado calendario de actividades, ha hecho de la práctica deportiva un pilar fundamental en el desarrollo integral de la familia viñamarina”.
Agregó la primera autoridad comunal que “esta gran obra tiene además el gran valor de la palabra empeñada. Por ello, quiero agradecer al Presidente Piñera por este extraordinario estadio, por realizar todas las gestiones y sumar distintas voluntades hasta hacerlo realidad: en una frase, doy gracias a un Gobierno que cumple”.
En tanto, el presidente Sebastián Piñera explicó que “con esta intervención, el Sausalito será sin duda el estadio más lindo de Chile, y su remodelación se hará con el criterio de ser fiel al entorno, transformándose en un estadio ‘verde’, adecuado al maravilloso paisaje que le rodea. Además, ampliaremos la capacidad del recinto a 25 mil personas, contará con iluminación de última generación, especialmente diseñada para la televisión digital, y recintos como museo, casino y gimnasio para brindar todas las comodidades a los asistentes”.
Como invitados especiales a este recorrido por el principal recinto deportivo viñamarino, estuvieron en la ceremonia personajes históricos en la historia de Everton, como Armando Tobar, Erasmo Zúñiga y Julio Núñez entre otros, integrantes del actual plantel oro y cielo, y de las escuelas de fútbol del club.
