Venerdì 20 maggio 2016 nell'Aula del ‘400 dell’Università di Pavia (Piazza Leonardo da Vinci), è stato presentato il progetto “La follia sale in cattedra”.
Capita spesso di immergersi nella lettura di romanzi polizieschi che hanno squilibrati per protagonisti, di assistere a serie televisive in cui la follia la fa da padrona, o di leggere quasi morbosamente gli articoli di cronaca relativi a vicende psichiatriche. Eppure, anche i migliori scrittori, sceneggiatori e giornalisti alimentano un’immagine della follia spesso poco aderente alla realtà. La finzione, consapevolmente o meno, ci difende e ci tiene a distanza dalle persone che soffrono sul piano psicologico: la malattia psichiatrica, infatti, fa paura, perché suona come qualcosa di particolarmente sconosciuto.
Quando un professionista racconta di una malattia mentale dal suo punto di vista, la vede spesso come una raccolta di disabilità, di qualcosa che c’è “in meno”, rispetto alla condizione normale. Per sfatare questa situazione, il Dipartimento di Scienze del Sistema Nervoso e del Comportamento dell’Università di Pavia propone un progetto dal titolo “La follia sale in cattedra”, da un’idea del prof. Pierluigi Politi, Ordinario di Psichiatria dell’Università di Pavia. Il progetto intende affidare la narrazione della follia a chi la vive in prima persona, così da consentire a tutti noi di capire quanto abbiamo in comune e quanto possiamo condividere. Le persone che soffrono di una malattia mentale, nascondono spesso capacità insospettate, e possono essere, a volte, i migliori insegnanti rispetto alla loro condizione.
Con una donazione minima di dieci euro è possibile finanziare “seminari di insegnamento” tenuti da persone che hanno attraversato una stagione di malattia mentale e di compromissione della loro salute, ne hanno guadagnato consapevolezza e sono in grado di trasmettere questa esperienza a studenti, professionisti del settore e a chiunque fosse interessato.
Ad accompagnare l’iniziativa diverse esperienze artistiche: dall’esposizione delle tele dell’artista Francesco Maria Bibesco, alle musiche della Big Dive Band, un eterogeneo ensemble musicale, formato da studenti, pazienti e docenti dell’Università di Pavia, diretta da Tito Mangialajo Rantzer, che per l’occasione propone un repertorio di brani standard jazz, con musiche di grandi autori che hanno fatto la storia del genere.
La serata si è conclusa con il concerto del cantautore genovese Paolo Gerbella, autore di “Io, Dino”. L’album è interamente dedicato alla figura del poeta Dino Campana, uno dei più grandi emblemi di “follia geniale” della prima metà del Novecento.

Christchurch is a borough and town in the county of Dorset on the south coast of England. The town lies next Bournemouth in the west and the New Forest lies to the east. Historically and previously within Hampshire, it joined Dorset with the reorganisation of local government in 1974 and is the most easterly borough in the county. It covers an area of 19.5 square miles and has a population of around 45,000, making it the fourth most populous town in the county.
On the 10th June 2018, Christchurch Council held a Super Car event that was very well attended. The cars were displayed in Saxon Square and along the High Street. It was not easy walking around trying to get Videos and Photos of the event. The selection of cars that were on display was a credit to the event. A well-known TV chef appeared in his very own and very expensive and rare Ferrari. Various stalls were there selling all manner of food, drinks, and memorabilia. There was some confusion as to how the cars would arrive and many people waited in the wrong place waiting along the Christchurch By~Pass some did arrive this roadway but many were missed having arrived on the other road into Christchurch. However, they could still be seen on display in the High street.
The story of Christchurch Priory goes back to at least the middle of the 11th century, as Domesday says there was a priory of 24 secular canons here in the reign of Edward the Confessor. The Priory is on the site of an earlier church dating from 800 AD. In 1094 a chief minister of William II, Ranulf Flambard, then Dean of Twynham, began the building of a church. Local legend has it that Flambard originally intended the church to be built on top of nearby St. Catherines Hill but during the night, all the building materials were mysteriously transported to the site of the present priory. Although in 1099 Flambard was appointed Bishop of Durham, work continued under his successors, and by about 1150 there was a basic Norman church consisting of a nave, a central tower and a quire extending eastwards from the crossing. It was during this period that another legend originated, that of the miraculous beam, which was to change the name of the town from Twynham to the present day Christchurch.
Christchurch Quay, from the quay you can find a ferry called Wick Ferry, that will take you over to Hengistbury Head, also a little further along the Quay, there is a ferry boat that will take you across the river to the pretty village of Wick or even onto the Tuckton tearooms. This ferry started around 1880 by Eli Miller, and only cost then, a halfpenny to cross the river. Christchurch was founded in the 7th century at the confluence of the rivers Avon and Stour which flow into Christchurch Harbour. The town was originally named Twynham but became known as Christchurch following the construction of the priory in 1094. The town developed into an important trading port and was fortified in the 9th century. Further defences were added in the 12th century with the construction of a castle which was destroyed by the Parliamentarian Army during the English Civil War. During the 18th and 19th centuries, smuggling flourished in Christchurch and became one of the town's most lucrative industries. The town was heavily fortified during Second World War as a precaution against an expected invasion and in 1940 an Airspeed factory was established on the town's airfield which manufactured aircraft for the Royal Air Force.

Ming Dynasty. She has inherited the family handed-down ancestral collection, including valuable ceramics, jade carved works of art, antiques, bronzes, and Chinese paintings moving from mainland China to Taiwan since Qing dynasty, from her father Chen Wancheng and has been trained to be a good professional collector and an excellent appraiser by family education since childhood for over 80 years.

Presented by Hoag Orthopedic Institute, the OCVarsity Athlete and Coach of the Year Awards were held on Tuesday, June 7.
Former Lakers star and four-time NBA Champion Jamaal Wilkes and World Series champion and former Angels closer Troy Percival served as keynote speakers.
An audience of 270 cheered and applauded as over 50 students and coaches were presented with awards for their accomplishments in fall, winter and spring sports.
Veteran OCVarsity columnist and event co-emcee Steve Fryer shared stats and stories on each of the varsity honorees.
The Register published an eight-page OCVarsity section in Wednesday's paper listing all award winners and more stories and photos are available at ocvarsity.com.
Everything behind these historic facades is new , they form a Hollywood front to modern commercialism with retail shops to tempt every buyer and window shopper alike .
