A Shore Line East train barrels west passed what’s left of the old dry dock and boathouse on the West river in Guilford, this river used to be a productive oyster & Shad fishing ground, now all that’s left is scattered machinery and planks of wood.
Beautiful tessellations from Jane! My poor skills of photography do not do them justice - but they are wonderful, muito obrigado!

Presenting my newest cafe diorama, this time with FR dolls!
Giselle is taking her sister Agnes and her friend Colette for brunch in a charming little cafe nearby. It is decorated with nostalgic taste to create a warm feeling but Colette and Agnes hate each other, so the atmosphere is far from being warm and cosy.
Best in Brokade Misaki is the waitress and normally enjoys her job but decides to keep her distance with today's customers being who they are.

In a gloomy November afternoon right after thanksgiving, M452-28 pulls up to Beaver Street in Baldwin to drop off their 31 autoracks in Baldwin yard. After dropping their autoracks, they would pull all of their 117 Waycross bound cars North.
Somehow, the one of the handful of dash-8's on actual CSX mainline trackage (besides PanAm territory) would lead this train all the way to Waycross from Miami.
The famous Sagrada Família in Barcelona, Spain is a one-of-a-kind temple. Five generations now have watched the Temple progress in Barcelona. Today, more than 140 years after the laying of the cornerstone, construction continues on the Basilica. Five of the six central towers have been completed. The completion of the central tower of Jesus Christ spire in 2026 will make Sagrada Família the tallest church building in the world.

Posting to say present and to let you all know that all is well with me. Sorry for going offline for so long without say a word but I really needed this long break. Also, from now on, I am gonna post a lot less and spend much less time on Flickr mostly because before the break I was spending 3-4 hours a day trying to give feedback to everyone and that was wearing me down. I am planning on posting once or twice a month and give as much feedback as humanly possible. I hope I won't forget anyone.

Cette renoncule des montagnes présente une fleur toujours fermée, empêchant la fréquentation par les pollinisateurs classiques : bourdons, abeilles, syrphes, papillons, coléoptères variés etc.... Selon les régions, seules une à six petites espèces de mouches savent entrer dans la fleur et utilisent la chambre jaune pour se reproduire et se nourrir du nectar du Trolle avant de repartir polliniser d'autres Trolles.
Sur cette image, une petite mouche se cache en haut à gauche de la fleur... peut-être une spécialiste du Trolle !
Répartition géographique : montagnes d'Europe, nord de la Fennoscandie, Sibérie occidentale...

Une des magnifiques mosaïques au sol dans le chœur de la cathédrale de Cologne, Domkloster 4, Cologne (Köln), Land de Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie, Allemagne.
La mosaïque au sol du chœur fait environ 1300 m². Elle a été conçue par August Essenwein de 1885 à 1892. Dans le déambulatoire, les mosaïques racontent l’histoire de la construction de l’église de Cologne.
Sur cette photo on voit un chevalier symbolisant l’empire romain germanique à qui on présente la cathédrale de Cologne bien reconnaissable avec ses deux flèches.
C’est en 1248 que débuta la construction de cette cathédrale nommée Dom Sankt Peter und Santa Maria (Haute Église Saint-Pierre et Sainte-Marie). Celle-ci est inspirée de celles de Paris, Reims et Amiens. Destinée à recevoir les reliques des Rois mages offertes à la ville en 1164 par l’empereur Frédéric Barberousse, son édification a duré plus de 600 ans (1248-1880). Elle est la troisième plus grande cathédrale gothique, après la cathédrale de Séville et celle de Milan. Beaucoup d'historiens de l'art y voient l'harmonie par excellence entre les diverses pièces architecturales ainsi que le bijou du style gothique du Moyen Âge. C'est pour cette raison qu'elle a été inscrite, en 1996, sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO (WHL-292bis).
Cologne (Köln) est la métropole rhénane et l'une des plus grandes villes d'Allemagne. Ville commerciale de premier plan, elle est aussi la capitale allemande de la télévision. Outre sa célèbre eau connue dès le 16e siècle, la cité est réputée pour son carnaval (5 jours précédant le mercredi des Cendres) pendant lequel touristes et Colonais se déchaînent et font la fête sans discontinuer. Devenu du temps de Charlemagne, un archevêché, douze églises romanes et sa célèbre cathédrale gothique, dont les deux flèches noires sont devenues le symbole de la ville, témoignent de son importance en tant que centre religieux pendant le Moyen Âge. Les 12 églises romanes, élevées sur des lieux de sépultures de saints et d'évêques, ont influencé par leurs formes, l'évolution de l'architecture romane bien au-delà de la Rhénanie.
