Maisie was given to me by my friend Pat. She has had many adventures for Flickr but today she's staying quietly at home and taking part in International Cat Day.

Robby is holding his new Puppy Cooper Smith. Cooper is a Cocker Spaniel and has a great personality. I am sure you will see more photos of him as he adjusts to his new family. Campbell, Charley and Cali are in the process of trying to figure out if they are all that happy about this new addition. I will let you know what they decide.

Just checking for food (especially now she's on a diet!)

Happy Caturday & happy Easter!

A rather flippant interpretation of 7DOS "shoot anything" - but it's a Hotel Chocolat bag. Chocolate is bad for pets & she never gets to eat any - but Daisy is always hopeful!

Venus and the Three Graces Presenting Gifts to a Young Woman, also known as Giovanna degli Albizzi Receiving a Gift of Flowers from Venus, is a fresco painting by the Italian Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli of circa 1483–1486. The painting and its companion piece, A Young Man Being Introduced to the Seven Liberal Arts, originally decorated the walls of Villa Lemmi, a country villa near Florence owned by Giovanni Tornabuoni, uncle of Lorenzo de' Medici and head of the Roman branch of the Medici Bank. They were probably commissioned for the wedding in 1486 of Giovanni's son Lorenzo to Giovanna of the Albizzi family, and are therefore thought to depict the two.

Venus and the Three Graces Presenting Gifts to a Young Woman shows a young woman, probably Giovanna Tornabuoni, being received by Venus and the three Graces. Giovanna holds open a white cloth, into which Venus is laying roses symbolizing beauty and love.

Both paintings were discovered at Villa Lemmi in 1873 under a coat of whitewash and removed from the wall and transferred to a canvas support. They are now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris.

This is the third Christmas in a row that I’m spending apart from my family, but I am still in love with the preparations. 😊🌲

One of the most frequent mistakes we make is to ruin the "present" by remembering the past that has no future.

L. A.

A bit late I know, Christmas is well and truly over but I am so far behind with my editing that this is where I am up to.

I came up into the room to find Yuki fast asleep under our Xmas tree looking like he had been left there as a present.

Jasper's been working on getting one of his Pandas to resemble a Picasso painting. I think he's pretty much nailed it ;-)

I got an early Christmas present today. I have wanted a shot of this place with fresh snow & great sky for a long time.

I knew it might be questionable access to it today. They don't plow the road.

Lucky for me there was one set of tracks going in. If not Lynette wouldn't have let me drive in there.

Merry Christmas to me!!

It was Thursday, September 22, 1977, the afternoon of my 16th birthday. I had an Azuki 10-speed bicycle, a Canon camera loaded with Kodachrome, and was ready to ride across town to see what was happening at Provo Yard. I arrived just in time to catch this GP9 and two GP9Bs shuffling along the service rail, the perfect gift for a young railfan photographer!

Lots of photos were taken here on this three day trip as the blast furnace in the background is due to close later in the month, and at times the conditions and lighting were ideal.

How times change - at its peak in 1970, the UK produced 28.3m tonnes of steel, the fifth largest producer in the world, and employed more than 320,000 people. Decline has been precipitous. Last year, the UK produced 5.6m tonnes, 26th in the world, and employed about 33,500 people.

In 2025 no virgin steel from iron ore will be made in the UK.

From October 2024 Port Talbot will finish steel imported from Tata plants in India, an electric arc furnace using scrap should start production in 2027.

For now, around 1,000 jobs remain from a workforce that used to number 18,000.

More Melbourne laneways, still exploring the few streets just around the motel I was staying at. About all I really got the time to do alas. A couple of late night, all too brief trips around the block basically. Ah well, next time...

I'll be back to catch up over the evening my fine flickrites.

(I'm writing you a super long letter)

Last night, after the Rowdies win over Memphis (!), they put in a very impressive fireworks show. Height of the display may have been limited, since most of the fireworks stayed low. This presented beautiful colorful clouds of smoke that I hadn’t seen before. The inclusion of the palm trees and harbor in the background were bonuses for me. I’m only posting two of my photos from last night, but I had many choices for favorites. Good job, Rowdies!

In a gloomy November afternoon right after thanksgiving, M452-28 pulls up to Beaver Street in Baldwin to drop off their 31 autoracks in Baldwin yard. After dropping their autoracks, they would pull all of their 117 Waycross bound cars North.

Somehow, the one of the handful of dash-8's on actual CSX mainline trackage (besides PanAm territory) would lead this train all the way to Waycross from Miami.

Presenting my LEGO Architecture interpretation of one of the most iconic landmarks ever constructed - Taj Mahal.

When redesigning and revisiting this MOC I felt I was going back in time given it was based off my first ever MOC I ever created. It was a very unique insight seeing how my designs and the ability to replicate features and elements into a LEGO model have improved.

Watch out for the launching of my book "HDR UNLEASHED" in July.
