La gaita es un instrumento de viento que, en su forma más simple, consiste en un tubo preformado (puntero), provisto de caña e insertado dentro de un odre, que es la reserva de aire. El aire entra en el odre (fol) a través de un segundo tubo, que tiene una válvula que impide la salida del aire provisto por los pulmones del gaitero. Éste comprime con su brazo el odre para mantener la salida de aire con sonido (tempero).
Hoy en día todas las gaitas han evolucionado desde este tipo simple pero, mientras algunas llegaron a un alto nivel de perfección artística, otras han permanecido en el mismo estado primitivo. El primer avance en la gaita simple fue el agregado de otro tubo que da la nota continua, y esto es ahora una de las características principales de todas las gaitas; se trata del roncón y su número ha sido aumentado hasta seis en algunos casos. El puntero, los roncones y el soplete están ajustados al fol mediante tubos de madera denominados asientos o “buxas” que son las que están atadas al odre. Las buxas actúan además como protección de las lengüetas.
Los primeros odres consistían en una piel completa de animal pequeño, por ejemplo, una cabra u oveja o el estómago de un mucho más grande y estos últimos son usados aún en muchos países. Si consideramos el animal completo, el puntero se coloca en el cuello, en tanto que el roncón y el soplete son colocados en las patas delanteras.
Las gaitas modernas tienen foles de piel de ovejas adobada, cortadas de una manera determinada y luego cosidas, en otros se usa piel sintética o directamente de goma. La mejor piel de oveja es la de Islandia, porque es gruesa, conserva bien el aire y absorbe el aliento condensado. En los de goma esta propiedad no se cumple pero sí lo hace en los de tejidos sintéticos de membrana microporosa de politetrafluoretileno expandido (conocido comercialmente como “gore tex”® , aunque hay otras marcas de similares características en el mercado) . El modo de insuflar aire puede hacerse mediante un soplete o con un fleite (barquín)

La gaita ha sido un instrumento tradicional, distribuido por numerosos países de todo el mundo, incluyendo la península de Escandinavia, las Islas Británicas, los Países Bajos, Francia, la Península Ibérica, la Península Itálica, los Balcanes, el norte de África, Turquía y Oriente Medio. Aunque existen posibles referencias literarias en textos latinos, las primeras representaciones europeas se remontan a la Baja Edad Media.

The "autumn leaves" moniker was given by our departed friend, Lakerdog. In his hinor, I will continue to use that name for brecciated jasper with this coloration.
It is darker than what is usually found in Parkfield, CA, reminiscent of what I've seen from along the Central Coast (likely washed down from the Coast Range), in places like Cayucos, or some places in Santa Barbara and Monterey Counties.
I noticed two fractures in the slab that did not appear to be completely healed, so I placed the slab in a vise, and pulled on the ungripped portion, and both fractures gave way. Viola, natural pre-forms.
This is a photo I took earlier this year while watching Wood Storks building nests and preforming courtships! I watched this fight go on for what seemed like an hour but was more than likely no more than 10 minutes! The bird on top that is choking the other bird actually ended up killing it!! I have never seen anything like this before between adults of the same species. Well I know this is something very different and was not sure whether to share it or not but it is still an amazing sight to see!! I spend hours watching birds and learning behavior and it is amazing to watch nature!! Hope you like the image and thanks for looking !! Kevan and Linda !!

Completed last weekend. This cab came, as an already-dopped preform, as part an estate sale. It was a tear-shape with a large gouge, and a severely uneven girdle. I evened it out, adjusted the shape to eliminate the gouge and polished it. Pretty soft stuff, but still takes a good shine.

As I take Koda out to use the bathroom daily; we have those that wait just below a hill, to drive by, or fly by, and preform acts to harass him and I. This is repeated day after day, poo after poo. They have many tools in their arsenal. Mostly the ignorant, unethical and immature, want-a-bees. These people have no boundaries, and no lack of funding.
The helicopter is a Black-hawk, that has buzzed me sense my 2nd day in Wyoming. It followed us from camp to camp. It even followed us while we were out scouting for camps. It's been over a month now. This chopper was last night, just after dark. Koda had to use the bathroom before bedtime, so I took him out. The truck was yesterday, just after putting together my collage “Surrounded By Hate”. What you don’t see are the Direct Energy Attacks, I received all through the night. I had about 3 hrs sleep. These were also effecting Koda, most of the evening; he would cower to and from the bedroom. Then, lay right against my feet, as I updated my daily journal and edited photos.
Americans; Direct Energy Weapons are real, and have been used on US Citizens for Decades. When I heard the CIA was forming an Investigation Squad, to supposedly find the cause of the “Havana Syndrome”. I thought to myself; what a bunch of bullshit. Our own FBI, has been aware of its use on US Citizens for decades; on US Soil. That’s a TRUE statement! You try to inform them of it; they will hang up on you.
Just an hour ago; I took Koda out to poo. Two, 20-somethings drive by in a truck, with a big dog in the open bed. Koda is doing his poo circle, and here they come from over the hill behind us. I take my half-wit spotter (camera), because I know what’s coming. The driver was hanging out the window looking at Koda, he yells HI! Then calls me a creep for taking pictures, then FU, bla, bla, bla.
It’s not a coincidence, this is planned, conspired Terrorism. It’s used to drive people from neighborhoods, workplaces, even America. It’s used to destroy lives, families and support systems. It’s used to push people over the top. There are many whistleblowers, and targeted Individuals; that have left this country. They know this Terrorism all to well. If you think our legal and judicial systems serves everyone equally; do a little reading. Folks, this is some dark stuff, and supported by Dark Money. Knowledge can be a powerful tool, but here in the United States; too much can destroy your life. And, we despise other Countries for doing the same.
Gang Stalking, Community Mobbing are real, they have been for decades. They are just a Guise for Domestic Terrorism. Direct Energy Weapons are real, and used on American Soil.

This theatre was so amazing & hidden secret for years. The origins date back to the late 1800's with the newer & current theatre opening in 1924. I was very lucky to have explored it three times over the last week. Stay tuned because there is so much awesome & hilarity coming from this one! With Freaktography & Carlo Paolozza
