One can see prayer flags all around the country encrypted with scared Buddhist prayers. It is a Bhutanese tradition to erect prayer flags and is accepted belief that this process will purify oneself, wash away the sins and bring lots of good luck.

Iv'e been saving this one for quite a while, but today I called in at the Cathedral where this was taken in Wakefield to say a prayer for the thousands made homeless by the tragic earthquake in Haiti.
My heart goes out to all those who have lost loved ones in this tragedy.
Like myself please donate to the many charities that are co-ordinating aid to the people of Haiti.
Around New Year, people in Tokyo flock to Meiji-jingu; the countries largest shrine. Many leave prayers on pieces of paper or on small wood blocks like this.
since I like to knit, the Prayer Shawl Ministry seemed like a natural thing for me. about the time that I joined, some one near to me lost a child. so it occured to me that I needed to make this stole for her.
I hope that it brings her some grace.

Taken in Xiahe, Gansu, China. These Tibetan prayer wheels lie along the 3km pilgrim circuit and there are over 1,200 of them!
Xiahe is a county in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu, People's Republic of China. It is home to the famous Labrang Monastery, one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries outside of the Tibet Autonomous Region. The town is populated largely by ethnic Tibetans, and is situated at an altitude of 3,000m.
