I'm living right by this beautiful park now, and I love it.

There are these coloured flags all over Ladakh. They're buddhist prayer flags . They're silently fluttering away all over the place praying for the place and its people. And God knows they need it in that weather :)

We finally hung new prayer flags in our yard.

People light a candle and say a prayer for each candle they light. Every church here in the Philippines has these stands for there candles and places where people can pray.

Visited my friend's church, and after the service, I joined their prayer walk.

Prayer candles in the Serra' Chapel at San Juan Capistrano mission.

Rebels gathered at the main gateway into rebel-held Ajdabiya in the east gather for noon prayers, watched over by armed comrades.

There was a really huge and heavy prayer bell at the exit to the main shrine of the Puh Toh Tze temple. Again, there was the customary warning notice asking visitors not to ring the bell. Not that it would have been possible to ring it anyway due to its sheer weight and it's being barricaded, as seen here. (Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia, Nov. 2013)

The shrine had a place where you could leave prayers you would like answered. There must have been prayers from all over the world because I saw many languages that I did not recognize.

Native American prayer flag in the forest surrounding Devils Tower National Monument, northeast Wyoming, USA. Formed by magma that hardened beneath the earth's surface 50 million years ago, then appeared above the landscape 1-2 million years ago as the softer rock around it eroded away, this otherworldly formation is sacred to local Native American tribes. According to legend, the Great Spirit made the rock rise out of the earth to help people escape a giant bear, who angrily clawed at the sides as it grew.

These six images are of the prayer book of my wife's great-grandmother, Elisabetta Petacci Gabioli Crescenzi; the little hand-written, hand-sewn booklet dates from 1900 to 1912. The last pages are used to write down the offerings made to the church after her death: "Offerings for mamma's soul." The list was kept by Evelina, her daughter.
