A Prayer for Mothers
God our Father, we thank You for the gift of life and the gift of our mothers. Bless our mothers and make their hearts glad. Fill our homes with laughter and love. Grant that our mothers might always rejoice in their sons and daughters. And may they hold their children's children in their arms.

"THE PRAYER" by GEDION NYANHONGO: OPAL STONE SCULPTURE - 2002
Inscribed:
"Lord I thank you for my children/family that you have given to me. I bring them before you Lord. I pray that they will grow in Christ and bring their praises to you because you are a gracious and merciful Lord. Amen"
This marble angel is at the top of a mausoleum in a cemetery in a small town in central Brazil. It stands about 4 feet tall and it has been there for decades. Although it is in good shape the impact of the weather over the years is clearly visible. It holds a sign that says "Pray for him" in Portuguese, and the word "him" is written in a way no longer used in the Portuguese language for many years now, probably an indication of the age of the tomb.

Generally, in Bhutan, prayer flags are hoisted for happiness, long life, prosperity, luck and merit and to offer karmic merit to all sentient beings. After one dies, the benefits of offering prayer flags is believed to guide the soul of the dead away from the netherworld and to prevent it from being reborn in the three lower realms (Nge Song Sum, animals, pret and life in hell) of the six life cycles: Lha (god), Lha Min (demi-god), humans, animals, pret, and life in hell, according to a Buddhist scholar, Dasho Lam Sanga.

The Prayer Flag with the windhorse, called as the Rlungrta (pronounced as Lungta).
It is said that when the wind blows, the air carries the prayers printed on the flag and blesses the surround area.
