Hybrid Ixora, a continually-flowering tropical shrub.

Hadn't shot any flowers since a 2-day practice period, a month after I got a digital camera.

These are outside the lobby entrance of my apartment building, and caught my eye, for some reason, Friday afternoon, September 29, 2006.

Took several, using the D70s's various modes, including manual, and "aperture preferred." This one, set to "Closeup" program was the only one I liked of the several shots I took, and was in late afternoon's deep shade, so the flash fired.

After just two regular season football games, the Fall sports season came to an end for DMPS high schools as the school district began the year out of compliance with state mandates during the pandemic. As hybrid learning is scheduled to begin, the football season gets a brief extension. The Roosevelt Roughriders held practice at 6:00 a.m. at the Ignit Sports and Fitness facility on Tuesday, November 10th, prepare for a scheduled game against Roosevelt on November 17, the third and final game of the 2020 season for both teams.

I took Zeb out to the dockdogs practice at Prado dog recreation park today. I was hoping to have some success in getting him to jump off the dock. He swims well and loves retrieving his ball from a lake or the bay and even loves retrieving a frisbee at the beach. He eagerly jumps in and swims for it. Here he's bracing himself against the bank right before he "pops" off the bank to leap into the water after his ball. He will not do this off the dock. He whines and fidgets at the edge moves side to side in an attempt to find another way to his ball, but won't jump. So, we're back to square one of training the behavior from the bank in the hope that someday he will do it automatically and without thinking. Once he breaks that barrier on the dock, I think he'll love it as much as he does diving from the bank.

I turned a practice wooden Rondel dagger for a friend on my homemade lathe. I used a piece of wood he found in his garage, followed a photo he provided, and his marks for the length of the pommel, handle, and guard. Now I want one!
