Medical Friendly Shelter Full Scale Exercise 2018

The City held a full-scale exercise of the Medically Friendly Shelter (MFS) designed to establish a learning environment for participants to exercise their MFS operational plans.

The exercise served as a practical walk through of planning, operational coordination, operational communication, logistics and supply chain management, public health, healthcare, and emergency medical services

The MFS is only activated for a Category 2 or greater hurricane or as directed by the City Manager. The MFS is for people who, during periods of evacuation or emergency, require sheltering assistance due to physical, mental or cognitive impairment, or a sensory disability that exceeds the basic level of care provided at a general population shelter, but does not require the level of care provided at a skilled medical facility. This includes help with administering medication, personal hygiene assistance with activities of daily living (washing, dressing and eating).

Practicing strainer avoidance stuff - and in this little tributary of the Birkenhead where the water definitely wasn't pumping - nobody who floated down and just wrapped around the log could muscle themselves over it...

Randburg, South Africa

TO VIEW sit back from your monitor 2 feet and place your index finger about 10 inches in front of your eyes and focus on your finger. This will cause your eyes to go comfortably cross eyed. Keep that same cross eyed focus and notice there are now 3 photos in the back ground. Do not let your eyes leave the cross eye as you look at the middle picture which has appeared. Now increase or decrease how much your eyes are cross eyed until the image pops into 3D. Your eyes will want to leave the cross eye, but fight that urge. This is an acquired skill and takes practice. Stop if it's uncomfortable.

Notice my DIY boom - I'm particularly proud of the counter-weight solution ;-)

Biggest challenge - focusing on the spot you're going to be stending in.

Hello, and first of all, a big apology for all of those contact’s pics who I haven’t commented on for… God knows how long… The thing is, I kind of died, my game broke down, I got a writing stuck, I got a nervous breakdown, and I got interested in Digital Art! Heha. I PROMISE I’m off to comment right away!

Second of all, so… Tadaa!! The reason I died. This is my first attempt to draw a human on the computer X [ . No tablet used, ‘cause I don’t have one. Only Photoshop and a lot of read and re read tutorials O__+ .

There are a lot of things that I like, and that I don’t like. But since this is my first try, I decided to be soft on myself and let it go XP . The background is kind of plain, but I've been working on this drawing for around half of a month, and I can’t stand to look at this lady one moment more.

Hope you like, Comments and Critiques are always welcome, you know that.

Salutations from…

Hmm… Simsland. : )

Practice - 2015 Toyota/Save Mart 350

So here's how I practice with my new, and first, dslr camera. Bailey won't sit still for hours of practice, but this guy will. I finally had some success today with focusing the way I wanted. I'm feeling more hopeful!

Late night band practice with some friends. The studio wasn't very big and it was very hard to light. I didn't quite get the light i wanted to but it made for some interesting results. My nikon 50mm 1.8 did quite well in the low light conditions. Most shots were shot with 2.8 it seems to be the sweet spot with this lens.

Crazy Sexy Beautiful Art

Crazy Sexy Beautiful Art is a sensual balance between simplicity and erotically classy.

“sexy, classy, erotic, daring, fun, playful, innocent, strong, powerful, eye stopping, jaw dropping, mouth watering, sensual, beautiful, passionate, perfection.”

Pictures are worth a thousand words; how do you describe a piece of art that is so simple yet so powerful? My work speaks of simplicity, a sensual balance between lines. My pieces are created in black in white, which leaves room for your eye to follow the flow and movement of the piece. I currently have hundreds of pieces that range from Christianity, Spirituality, Family, Native, Butterflies, Angels, Sensual, Erotic and Classy. My pieces are extremely simple which leaves room to add new elements of design to my artistic practice. My dream is to expand my artistic career and go above and beyond the traditional and conventional and enter into a world of endless possibilities.

Last night was the first in a two-part class on calligraphy taught at Makeshift Society by Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls.

If you live in the SF area and are interested, it looks like Makeshift and Maybelle are going to be offering this series in March and April.

Another pic of one of ekangieser's chracaters, Magmlaya the Shaymin. This was originally meant to be Flamea, but she looked a bit too young and more like her daughter. The glow was pretty hard for me, and I didn't pull it off perfectly, but I think it's OK for a first try.

Anyway, I just realised I forgot to color the mouth, but nyeh.

This was at Raglan Barracks about 1914 I think.

I'm not sure if this stance would have put the fear of the Lord into the enemy.

Horrible to think that just four years away these men had to face the the horrors of the real thing.

i thought about converting this one into black and white because her pink coat is bit distracting. I want to emphasize her concentration. Then I decided the pink added the spirit of her liveliness to the picture. What do you think?
