The East Scarlets and Hoover Huskies met up for a practice scrimmage on Saturday, August 23 at Williams Stadium. The high school football season kicks off on Friday, August 29.
I've taken the day off work to catch up on a few things and to generally be slack.
I should be practising The Nutcracker Suite for a concert in a couple of weeks. But instead I find myself taking photos of me pretending to practise...
(Actually I pracitised for about an hour after taking this...)
I took a break from flashing strobes and practiced my panning shots. Most are too awful to post here, here are a few that came out okay. All shots were hand-held, with Image Stabilization set to Mode 2.
Shooting conditions weren't great, the sun was setting and the lens do not perform well at low light conditions. Camera was set to ISO800.
Sometimes I believe we all need a gentle prod into the direstion of where things should go. And with Cottaging, you can never be too careful. This is to remind you all, whether, like me, you are in Invercargill or maybe innocently cottaging in Brighton always practice safe cottaging!

I'm testing settings to get final shot ready to publish without corrections (NEVER editing!).
Much better to practice this sort of thing on to soft ground rather than concrete or asphalt.

The girls of Westlake practice 2 hours before their game. Since they're across the street from me and I work with the star pitcher's dad, I was asked to cover as many of their games and take shots for them. The shots would be used for their school newsletters, website, and most likely their year end slideshow. I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's fun. I get to use my experience shooting weddings, candid shots, etc, and apply it to a completely new ballgame (pun intended)

I've been trying to think romantic today to practice for a wedding i agreed to shoot.. breathe in and OUT... anyway so here I am practicing some ring shots on my rings.. thinking what I like and what to be would be special to have in my ring shots. Trying to think like a bride. .. anyway.. I pick my fav book off the shelf.. it's very old and it's called The Ladies Handbook.. I open it up and take some shots with my rings on it..then when i go to edit notice I've got it open to a section called "diseases of the woman" and the words near the ring say "sexual glands" omg..
