during the nuremberg trials, the axis leaders were specifically charged with crimes that the allied powers did not commit. prior to world war two, the official policy of targeting civilians by massive ariel bombardment was perceived as illegal and barbaric. these photos, taken by my grandfather, as he served as an aerial navigator for the allies serves to demonstrate the level of the savagery committed by both sides. the planes were sometimes miles up, and, lacking precision guidance systems were almost entirely unable to predict where their bombs would fall. i am a pacifist. i abhor the murder of any living thing. i posted these photos because they are a powerful and chilling reminder of the casual stance that our government (i am from the united states) takes when it comes to taking innocent life. the people not pictured in the photos who were on the receiving end of these weapons were mothers, fathers, children. we are all human beings. we are all sacred. peace.

I fought through a lot of red tape and had to rely on parent donations for uniforms but I finally got our after school program's soccer team off the ground. Our state grant prohibits us from fund raising.

Drum and bugle corps was practicing at the local high school a couple of years ago. These kids were amazingly dedicated...sweating and working hard in the summer heat.

I try to keep track of my daughter when she trains for cross country.

On a particularly foggy day I started getting nervous when I couldn't see her. I realized I had my camera in the car, so I put my long lens on it to use as a telescope. I could just see her coming out of the fog, and I also realized it could be something. I waited until she got to a brighter spot and took the shot. Some dodging and burning and stuff later, and here it is.
