With hand sanitizing, face masks and social distancing in place, East High School held their first official football practice with helmets on Monday, August 10th.
This was shot with iPhone 7 Plus in portrait mode. Vegetables were dropped in a coconut shell and placed on a tripod.
Way back in June 2012 there was a fund raiser for the performing arts in Wasilla, Alaska. One of the organizers was desperate for a photographer and asked me to shoot the event - I never pass up a chance to shoot with belly dancers so I said yes! This set contains shots from the dress rehearsal on 15 June 2012; some of the performers were in costume, some were not, but it was still a great event. Even though most of the performers are Middle Eastern belly dancers, the theme for this show was cabaret life in Paris around 1900 - so there were a lot of cool new costumes.
I took these photos in Wasilla, Alaska, in June 2012.
Sensei Zallel's (6th dan) karate dojo Sportingbudo has hosted annual summer camp last week in Balatonszárszó. A special practice day was organized in the lake Balaton.
You can see how Mr. Speakman (8th dan kenpo master) keeps himself in shape.
One of the children at the orphanage in the Spitamen district, Sogd region, Tajikistan practices on the computer donated to the orphanage by the Association for Tajik Aid and Development (ATAD) and Khujand-ATAD as part of their Aid to Orphans and Computer Education programs.
These are young Arctic Ground Squirrels and to make matters worse, they are siblings. I photographed them at Anadyr harbour in Chukotka where they had become quite habituated to humans. Being at the bottom of the food chain they are naturally quite skittish as lots of things naturally prey on them. They were keeping close to their burrow entrance and would occasionally scamper down it. I took some cute photographs of the two sitting together and then this happened. They aren't really mating. Just getting a bit of practice in.

It's morning and the horses are getting their daily exercise at the Tioga Downs harness racing track.
these are hammocks of silky fabric which are used for a yoga class i am taking. they are like a comfy cradle of warmth and stability. here is a video of the practice as it is too hard to explain. i will try and get a picture of me in one of these soon enough.
note: this is my second class, and i have only done some of the poses laid out in the you tube video. i did do a handstand today, though ;)
