Richard Myer's challenge jester. Garrie Hill made a carbon fiber nose fairing for it. They then enclosed the rest of the bike in an F-40 inspired fabric and wire tail fairing. The seat on the jester was risen to allow the rider to see over the fairing.

During the 4th Annual Practical Christmas, Bobby was not amused by getting toothpaste.
What is Practical Christmas? Karyn and I select about 25 items (from the local dollar store) for our son, niece and nephew (and there boyfriend and girlfriend). A story is told as each item is opened. It is Hilarious and takes about an hour. Items this year included: deodorant, calendar, Smarties, cereal, Justin Bieber Cards, and Magic Sizing to name a few. The most memorable part of the holidays.

The TVR Tamora is a 2-seater sports car, with exterior design by Lee Hodgetts, and Darren Hobbs and the interior by Damien McTaggart. First shown at the 2000 Birmingham Motor show, the car is named after Tamora, after a character in the William Shakespeare play Titus Andronicus and served as an entry-level model in the TVR range. The Tamora went on sale in 2002 intended to be a more practical and urban-friendly model in the TVR range. Based on the Tuscan Speed Six, the Tamora used the same chassis and suspension as the Tuscan. The engine was a short-stroked version of the 4.0 litre Speed Six found on the Tuscan now displacing 3.6 litres. Keeping with TVR tradition, the car still lacked driver's aids such as ABS and traction control, but was fitted with a power steering and a softer clutch for easy manoeuvrability. The Tamora was not a sales success due to reliability issues, high price and divisive styling. Only 356 cars were made before it was discontinued in 2006
The Tamora is fitted with the in house TVR straight six engine of 350bhp mated to a five speed manual gearbox. Brakes rotors are 12 inch front and 11.1 inch rears with AP racing callipers, the suspension double wishbone all round.
Keeping with the TVR tradition, the Tamora lacks driving aids such as traction control and ABS as well as air bags.
According to Autocar magazine, the Tamora is capable of accelerating 0–60 mph in 4.2 seconds, and completes the quarter mile in 12.5 seconds at 119 mph (192 km/h). Top speed is over 170 mph (270 km/h).

Part of a larger long term project. This is from the cover of the book Practical English, Book 2, published in 1971 as a companion piece to the pioneering ESL television program Sut Yung Ying Yee (Practical English), put out in San Francisco by Chinese For Affirmative Action in 1970. Eventually, I intend to restore & colorize the whole book cover, but that's going to take awhile.
There are four little vignette pictures along the front spine of the book, and, as of this moment, I've now posted the two easy ones from the middle. The other two, on the top and bottom, are slightly more damaged, and there are many ambiguous details which require some research on the bottom one.
Seeing the lady's matching purse & gloves brings to my mind my mother telling me that, when she was growing up in the 50's & early 60's, a woman never thought of going to downtown San Francisco without gloves.
I'd like to do some more research on this program. If anyone knows where it can still be watched, or if you can tell me who the people in the pictures are, please let me know. All of the actors in the program--according to some sources--were local activists.
In terms of the restoration/ colorization, this was the easiest of the four little pictures: not very damaged, and a plain background. I used the standard method of cutting different layers for different colors. I tried several colors for the lady's dress before settling on this violet shade.
This is a wooden thing that Emilie's grandma has for dispensing cling film, aluminium foil, and sopalin. Maybe I'm losing my English from being in France or maybe I drank it out of my brain, but I can't think of the word for "sopalin" in English. What is it? "Kitchen towels" is the best I can come up with, but that's just stupid. It's hardly a fucking towel.

Here in the South, September is a tricky month to dress for; cool in the mornings and evenings, but hot in the afternoons. I used Oliver and S's Field Trip pants and raglan as the base for an outfit that can work all day, for school and play. The tee is made from upcycled thermal tees, using the existing hems for the shirt's hems and neckline. I turned the cargo pants into straight shorts, using a very Southern madras patchwork. The fedora is based on Melly Sews' tutorial, and classic Chucks make the outfit complete1

Practical Photography Camera School 2015, Module 3 homework.
I selected this location because of the small roundabout and unusual building in the background. I got there just after the rush hour traffic so had to wait for enough vehicles to get the trails I was wanting. I also chose to shoot in aspect ratio 16:9 as it's better suited to the composition I was after.
I had to climb up a hill in the dark to get to my vantage point. A head torch would have been useful. While I was shooting a couple of runners were trying to help a guy down from the hill. He wouldn't go with them and attached himself to me ... in the end I had to help him down using the torch in my mobile.
Near the mini roundabout there had been a boot camp in progress. Things are just weird after dark!!!
So, I decided that being this week at school is Snoball week I will follow the theme as best as I can so I have a daily shot that goes with each one. Today was get up and go day. I just got up and put on my favorite sweater. But today that wasn't enough to convey my feeling for the day. I'm sad yet, excited. I sold my Playstation 2. Only for $85 dollars, but honestly, I can't complain. They are going for $99 on www.amazon.com and all. I am really going to miss my Playstation but in the end, I think I'd rather get a Wii or some camera "goodies"!
