My grandfather's old Praktica IV recently passed down to me. Purchased in 1961 (though manufactured in 1959). I love this camera, the weight of it, the way the lens screws into the body but most of all the simplicity of its functionality, this is truly a working mans camera, so basic yet effective.

There are two ways to achieve the awareness and the experience of the Soul. One, is the 'kramic' marg, which is a step-by-step path where one has to do penance, meditation, stay obedient to a guru (teacher) and slowly and steadily get acquainted with his Soul.
The other is the 'Akram' marg, the step-less path, akin to a lift, where one gets direct Self-realization because of a Gnani's blessing (without penance, meditation, etc). However, such an Akram marg is an exception and it is only available sometimes.
Pujya Deepakbhai talks about the Akram marg of Param Pujya Gnani Purush Dada Bhagwan, where fundamentally, two things should be understood - 1. Who am I? and 2. How does this world function? Or who is the real doer?
With this basic understanding, most of our worng understanding / beliefs will be corrected. This Spiritual Science of Akram marg will help us practically in our daily lives.

Klaus Knopper, Erfinder von Knoppix, freut sich über seinen Hauptgewinn in der Tombola: eine SuSE Linux 8.1
I made this image of a woman using the camera feature of her electronic device to shoot Irving Ramsey Wiles 1889 oil on canvas painting The Sonata. In the foreground is the Floral arrangement created by Forget Me Not Florist, Maggie Wan; co-exhibitors Jullian Mak and Vivian Ng of San Francisco. The annual Bouquets to Art exhibit is its largest fundraiser for the year and is attended by hundreds and hundreds of people each of its six days. Consequently it is sometimes more practical making a photo of the art and flowers through the perspective of another's eyes. Here, I used the woman in the foreground to capture the flavor of the art and those who view it.

Richard Myer's challenge jester. Garrie Hill made a carbon fiber nose fairing for it. They then enclosed the rest of the bike in an F-40 inspired fabric and wire tail fairing. The seat on the jester was risen to allow the rider to see over the fairing.

This is similar to the previous image but had an unsharp mask with a smaller radius applied. I might have done some "smart" sharpening here too. I attempted some of my manipulations in Cinepaint, which is capable of 16 and 32 bits per channel, but the program is so flaky for Debian Linux that I couldn't use it for anything practical. A second phase of editing happened in The Gimp.
Cropped 5:4.

This is a wooden thing that Emilie's grandma has for dispensing cling film, aluminium foil, and sopalin. Maybe I'm losing my English from being in France or maybe I drank it out of my brain, but I can't think of the word for "sopalin" in English. What is it? "Kitchen towels" is the best I can come up with, but that's just stupid. It's hardly a fucking towel.
The sign reads (in Swedish):
"Practical angles to resuscitate persons suffering from electrocution."
Can be seriously good to know.
