Obligatory meal. A rather touristy place called Montreal Poutine served up a vegetarian version: french fries, cheese curds, and veggie gravy (mushroom-based?). It wasn't bad, but not too memorable, either.

Although I thought it might be the best of both worlds....the original poutine (fries with cheese curd and covered in gravy) is much better.

It was good; an interesting take on the standard poutine.

French fries, cheese curds, and sauce. A delicious French-Canadian meal. I made some today and it was very tasty.

What's for dinner your first night in Montreal? Make it poutine. I had the classic and Ant had something with smoked meat (also a Montreal thing)

Food adventures at a Toronto restaurant called Utopia. This was a beautiful poutine off the brunch menu called the Oyako Poutine. It featured two poached eggs, cheese curds, country gravy and a heap

of chicken karaage.
