Quebec National Food- very underdone french fries covered in goat cheese and swimming in brown gravy. Served at every restaurant from McDonalds to the Greek or Pizza joints.

Lorsque j'y habitais, les rares poutines qu'on pouvait manger étaient faites avec du mozzarella râpé... Maintenant elles sont à l'affiche dans la majorité des restos où des frites sont servies. Et celles de cette chaîne sont fort honnêtes... et garnies de vrai fromage en grains «importé» d'Estrie.

I've seen it on a lot of restaurant shows, and I finally to try it from Maple Leaf Diner in Dallas. Very good...very filling. Fries cooked in duck fat (I think) with cheese curds and a brown gravy.

Ok, c'est pas du fromage en crottes, mais pour une première poutine parisienne, c'est quand même un début.

For those that do not know what poutine is, normally, it is fries with cheese curds and gravy. It's a French-Canadian thing. IMHO, it's pretty disgusting.

Yep! Some Quebecer set up this shop to sell poutine (among other things) to Canadian (and other) tourists.

I had poutine for the second time at Goodies' Restaurant in Hawkesbury Ontario. Poutine is yummy.

I don't know that we needed this much poutine over the course of a week. But damn it was good

A Canadian favorite that my sister raved about during her stay up North. It's french fries, covered in gravy, bacon, and cheese sauce. The real deal uses cheese curds and not cheese sauce. Canadian can keep this dish, it was a little too heavy for my tastes
