A "mini" Chez Ashton poutine, it was delicious, the mixture of fresh hot fries, the sauce and fresh squeaky cheese curds are amazing! If you ever go to Quebec City, you HAVE to visit Chez Ashton!

From the street of downtown Toronto, it was an amazing break from all the boxing day shopping.

We decided to christen our deep fryer by making fries for poutine. We just happened to have peas and chicken. So, we ended up with poutine galvaude.

I get to have it so rarely that I pretty much always stick to the basic version. This was a pretty good poutine.

In all of my trips to Canada, I've only had poutine once, and it was in Banff. Poutine is a Quebecois dish made up of French fries and cheese curds with gravy (of various types), and first emerged in the 1950s in Central Quebec. It was delicious!
