The Panama Canal Railway has operated passenger service in its current iteration since the rebuilding of the PCRC in 1998. At the time, the company ran these passenger trains from Panama City to Colon 5 days a week, Monday thru Friday, leaving Panama City at 0700, and leaving Colon City at 1700. These trains were generally aimed at wealthy commuters traveling to the port and Free Trading Zone in Colon.
During the Covid years, operations scaled back, at one point temporarily suspending service before bringing it back, but with a truncated consist of passenger cars, and the mothballing of the Rio Chagres dome car outside cruise ship season.
In April 2025, CPKC and Mi-Jack sold the railway to APM Terminals, a Maersk subsidiary. Since the sale, passenger operations scaled way back to once a week on Saturday's, however they make two round trips a day, one in the morning, one around noon. In addition, they brought back the dome car to regular service. It's clear this is now aimed at tourists instead of commuters. Its great so see a classic passenger train consist still alive months after the sale.
Didn't get any good shots during her class today, so after class let out, I popped into the empty studio next to her class and shot some pics of her practicing in there.
And for the first time, I've noticed the oversharpening that I hear everyone saying they are seeing when they post their pictures on Flickr. This looks so much better when I view it on my Mac. Oh well.

The Poertland Trading Post is packed with odds and ends from all around the floating worlds. Airships come from far and wide to trade goods, services, and stories.

This MOC was built in a week between the end of a summer internship and the beginning of Brickfair. It was about 80% complete when I packed it up, it arrived 30% complete. Much time at Brickfair was spent building this, and some parts needed to complete it were bought at Brickfair.
It was built to be part of the Floating Rocks Of Asgard display, put together by Nathaniel.
Evan did the fabulous mist and background editing, he's awesome.
Corner post.
His hands were gnarled as the tree that he had hand sawn and shaped to make the post.
Using just his bare hands, a crow bar and a long handled shovel he toiled for hours to dig the hole wide enough and deep enough.
Once he had reached the required depth he used the old tractor connected to a chain to drag the post as close as he could the hole in the ground.
Releasing the post from the chain and tractor he then used the crow bar to lever and manoeuvre the post.
He struggled that old man, he prised and pushed and shoved.
Not a word of curse was uttered.
He did eventually reach that point where he was able to reconnect the chain to the post and he was able to use the hydraulics on the tired old tractor to raise the post just barely high enough for him to finally prise into the correct position where it could be released.
With the post now embedded the old farmer then began the task of running the wire and and using a wire strainer applied the required tension.
The corner post has long survived the old man.
It is a reminder of the hard work and dedication that the old farmer has now left as a legacy.
It is almost certain that it will also survive the shed that the old man built in a time long past when he was a much younger man.

Between 1917 and 1924, the former main post office, designed by J. Crouwel jr. was realised in the style of the Amsterdam school, inspired by the work of the Finnish architect Saarinen. The magnificent hall with parabolic arches of yellow vitrified bricks is very impressive indeed. Global accessibility trough postal services is symbolised by the cast statues of the five continents, constructud by H.A. van den Eynde. The sixth image depicts trade and prosperity. Transport via land, sea and air is shown at the entrance. The cloack and the national copast of arms in the glazed tiles on the crosscut walls were created by the Porceleyne Fles.

PS: It's okay to post this on Flickr cause that's not real blood and those aren't real breasts
PPS: Does anyone else think that it's weird that I'm only permitted to post this because the subject of the photo is male?
PPPS: ...or are they? We are now living in the Century of the Broken Binary. People can no longer be summed up by simply checking one of two boxes. Human society is transgressing beyond paradigms of male/female, black/white, X/Y, this/that—even the One and the Zero which make our online communications possible are already obsolete...
Everyday
the Lamp Post
who sees more than I can see,
whispers words of wisdom
to me, and only me.
I lean my head against its pole,
Embrace it with a loving hold,
And while its mysteries unfold
I listen.
