Post Rock Country is one of my favorite areas of Kansas, so when driving to Colorado I like to get off the Interstate and explore a bit. Located in north central Kansas, the landscape is dotted with fence posts made of limestone. This area's settlers used layers from the Greenhorn Limestone formation (also called Fencepost Limestone) for the stone posts for their fences due to the fact that they had settled on a treeless prairie. Notice the fence on the upper part of the road in this photo. In addition to using Fencepost limestone for fence posts, the stone was also used for other buildings. When exploring this area, one will find beautiful stone churches, county courthouses, homes, barns and business buildings. I processed this image on my iPad in Painteresque.

Details of a white fence on historic Sonoma Plaza. This is simply part of one fence board--there are thousands of staples in the whole fence.

A while back I ordered a Thomson post and stem for my new road bike that I'm building. They came in the other day. I think they are purty!

27"x40" movie poster for a fictitious movie entitled "Etoile Bleue". Used a friend as a model, shot raw with studio lighting, and then blew the whole thing up. Was pretty happy with this, especially the print out, which was a nightmare to get right. For some reason the plotters hated my file and shat it out in the most horrendous magentas and cyans you've ever seen... but clearly the problem was resolved, which was a relief.

This old metal hitching post is on the sidewalk along North Main Street in downtown Bellbrook, Ohio.

It wasn't long before the lightning and thunder started to explode as it rolled in from the east. All other hikers were hightailing it out of there and I probably should have followed suit. My day started back at Tenaya Lake which you can see in the distance.
