The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training initiative offers SNAP recipients in Louisiana the opportunity to gain skills, training and work experience. Some city officials were present for the raising of the rainbow flag. One gave a short speech and then they posed for photos with the samba band. One of the officials was wearing a large, ceremonial gold chain, so I think she might be mayoress. (Brits do not have a gender-neutral term for mayor, according to my friend Paula.)

Tussi in her garden, late one evening in May 2009. Rather high ISO (720) and a little noisy due to that, but I like her look, the background and the light.
It must be the most photogenic festival I've visited in months, the crazy colorful Bungalup in Zeewolde, Holland. Put the house in carnival and use a fading bungalow park as center of this energetic universe. The result is a outrageous mdma-infused party that lasts for three days and includes a tropical swimming pool and lots of fake hair.

So, there's a story behind this one...
When one of my cousin's got married, the wedding photographer made her and her bridesmaids stand in a row, pulling up their skirts to show their garters. She was not a happy bunny - so now at every occasion of any importance my sister and I so the same pose. Family tradition, innit?
These were my first ever pair of high heels... I was a slow developer...
