This little raptor posed very nicely for me, but I'm still kicking myself for missing the flight shot. I was parked in the middle of the main road through Cherry Creek State Park, so I was concerned about traffic and took my eye away from the viewfinder to look in the rear view mirror to see if cars were approaching. When I looked back in the viewfinder, it was flying straight at me. I was too late to grab focus on what would have been a great flight shot. Oh well...

He was hanging out on the handle of my barbecue grill and didn’t want to leave. When I picked him up to move him, he didn’t want to leave my hand.

This couple wanted their picture taken while still in costume for their roles in "King Richard's Faire" in Carver, Massachusetts. So they asked -- my wife! (But the guy did say that my Nikon D5000 was a "nice camera.")
Out for a windy, snowy, hailed on and sunshiny ride this afternoon! (Sunday) 42 miles around the edge of Sheffield and into the Peak District. Lovely stuff!!

Sometimes the wildlife you find on trips seems aware of you. Sometimes, they act in their naturally amusing (and sometimes goofy) manner.
I'm not sure which one this is...I'll let you make up your own mind, good viewer.
This would be Canonicus Photographus in one of it's native environments.
Laurin in a typical pose for a portrait of some sort... I like the colors and the balance of this though.
I really don't like posed shots but I was having trouble getting the St Bartians to stand still for long enough.
We were driving out to our sister's ranch and saw this scene unfold....a miniature horse and her baby in a classic Texas scene....
So many of my best shots are pure luck....but it does pay to have a camera that turns on instantaneously....and that happens to be within an arm's reach....
Best if viewed at the original size....
