Exploring the Fairy Pools on Skye

Wandering up Deepdale the other day I was struck by the number of lovely wee pools as the dog and I got closer to Greenhow End. I appreciate its quite similar to a previous upload but I like them both. A nice day to be on the tops but not bad low down either. Quite a formulaic image but sometimes its just nice going out taking simple pictures of locations you love.

one of the upper falls at the famous fairy pools on the isle of skye back in february

Caught this one in between the rain showers. Tried something a bit different with the PP to give it a more atmospheric feel.

The worst day for me on the Isle of Skye was the Friday. It rained solidly all day and visibility was pretty poor. Only one thing for it I thought, the fairy pools. Where, although I didn't think it possible, I managed to get even wetter.

One of the gems at Moreton Island is the Champagne Pools. To get there by sunrise (from Tangalooma) it meant I needed to plan this carefully through tides and drive in the dark through the beach and internal sand roads (which I absolutely enjoyed). A 3am start was enough time form me to be ready at blue hour. The effort payed off as was greeted with an awesome clouds and light.

Fairy Pools.

3 huge pools of processed fracking fluid a few miles from my dad's house. the run off from this also gave a friend of mine a rash.

this is located just behind a hill so the houses at the bottom of the image do not have a view of the pools (but the rest of the site is very visible).

Fairy Pools, Coire na Creiche, Cuillins, Skye.

The last one in the series and my personal favourite - hope you like it as well!

Flash floods were not expected when we booked a trip to Zion National Park. The silver lining was being able to see waterfalls that are rarely there. Emerald Pools Falls #1, 2 and 3 are all pictured here. Can you find all three?
