A second day of route learning on 88008 happened on the 13th March 2018. Working 0Z08, 1020 Millerhill - Niddrie South - Millerhill - Prestonpans Loop - Millerhill - Niddrie South - Millerhill - Prestonpans Loop - Millerhill - York ( via various loops on the way back to York ) it is seen leaving the loop at Prestonpans on its first run to the loop. The second run to the loop was missed out but instead ran on the mainline and reversed heading back to Millerhill.
What is very interesting, which I never noticed till I downloaded this image, is the new set of points leading into the old coal plant for the now demolished Cockenzie Power Station. They haven't obviously been used yet , but will they ?
The last coal working out of Cockenzie Power Station was on March 9th 2013

With the train dissolving in the heat shimmer from the loco’s exhaust 70811 passes Appleby North signal box with the Carlisle-Chirk timber. On this occasion it was described as 6X37 on RTT, answers on a postcard.
