The early morning sun lit up the grass and shone through the cannus leaves, turning this shot into a bright variety of colors... and this version is after I desaturated the yellows and greens so they would settle into the background.
These pods remind me somewhat of soybeans. But they are the seeds from a wildflower growing in the Miller Ecological Park sunflower patch in Lebanon, Ohio. I have not been able to identify the wildflower, but it is likely a member of the legumes.
About 20cm wide & long.
South Taiwan, February 2008
Apparently these pods come from trees that produce the most beautiful flowers of South Taiwan. But we were not in season for those...
Does anyone have a photo of the flowers as well?
The giant tree-bush is 'podding'. My yard keeps surprising me. I have no idea what's going to come out of this thing. A fruit? A flower? A baby?
