These seed pods are super cool and grow in the winter on Sycamore trees after the leaves have fallen. They look like bulbs just waiting to fall off, but don't be fooled. The seemingly tenuous, fibrous threads that attach each ball to a branch are really hard to break and are poised to fall off just at the start of spring to optimize the possibility of, well, spreading its seeds!

I love my snitch! My wings turned out even better than I hoped. I got lucky with that fabric, that's for sure.
Finally arrived at the cabin, later than planned, and just had time to take a quick shot of our piece of the creek.

I mostly like this one. I thought I was particularly clever when I used a left over piece of paper doll fabric with a gathered dress as the stopper for the potion bottle. I am not particularly clever at these things, so it was fun to feel smart. Then I looked at the block and it blends in so much that it is not even noticable. Oh well! At least I was thinking outside the box.

I really love the way this block came out. The variety of fabrics works well together. The funny thing is, I was really digging in the bottom of the barrel (almost literally) to find some new fabrics. I was planning on going to the store to find some quill fabric, but found that gorgeous print at the very bottom of a tub at the very bottom of my stack of tubs. This project is making me want to rearrange all my fabrics!
