Today I'm another year older (a couple pounds heavier). On Saturday I got the opportunity to shoot photos for a campaign for People of the Second Chance. It was a blast and the images came out great. I can't wait to share them. During the shoot I was able to steal off a shot for myself, as I need a new profile pic. Have a happy Halloween!

Merry Christmas everyone! While shooting the kids for this years Christmas cards, I was able to get a couple shot of my beautiful wife. Tried to have snow but kids throwing snow is not very efficient.
This month we were able to secure space to setup a photostudio. I hope this will kick start the year and encourage me to post up more blog posts. I still need to scour thru my China images which seems a bit overwhelming right now.
Hope everything is having the best holidays they can.

#7/365 Not exactly as I hoped..the sword is barely noticable..but if I crop in..the tree doesn't look as dramatic. In the end the tree won. That is my sword..which sit in the garage since the birth of my daughter.

Day 149 - Soundtrack to your Escape
"Spinning further. deeper // I know you're out to try me
I'm not in this to be a slave // Push the dirt. make me feel
Locate what swallows life // Night bird you build my world
...and then I close my eyes
Drown the monster // Make all bad dreams go away
Whatever it takes to keep your hands free
Open scars // The quiet place // All the bridges fall to the ground
And you say you sacrificed
Everything is in place // So much brighter from today
A king in my own mind"
I worked in an Institution for handicapped people for a while. There were patients with different levels of handicaps working there, going from trisomy 21 to people who were autistic. I always thought it was quite an interesting and disturbing thought to be trapped in your own mind. Don't get me wrong, the job was fun and we I had a great time working with handicapped people, but you can't help feeling sorry for them in same way.
When thinking about the Topic 'A Quiet Place' a Song of one of my favourite Bands came into mind. Looking throught the lyrics I found the above textlines and tried to translate them some way into a picture. I always found the Song had kind of a dark tone to it.
When shooting I had a cinematic look in mind, that I wanted to achieve, making it look like a scene from a horror movie/thriller playing at a mental institution. No bathroom with white tiles was near, so that white wall had to do, but I think the nasty green Fluorescent look really makes the image.
