Taken on March 30, 2013 at The Fields Sculpture Park at Omi International Arts Center in Ghent, New York, USA. Strolling the grounds, one finds many interesting artistic expressions. This one looked like a sheet of metal someone had fired upon, repeatedly. We added ourselves to the picture!

Marine Attack Squadron 311 (VMA-311) is a United States Marine Corps fighter squadron consisting of AV-8B Harrier (V/STOL) jets. Known as the "Tomcats", the squadron is based at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona and falls under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 13 (MAG-13) and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW).

Plus was builded in 1885 on Hamburg, Germany. This 71 meters long Iron barque was heading to Åland in 14.12.1933 on blizzard as difficulties started. The crew of iron barque Plus signalled for a pilot outside Kobba Klintar but none came. Crew was forced to seek route on their own.
Instead of finding the channel the ship ran around, tearing hole in to hull. The hold filled water so quickly there was no time to lower lifeboats. Sixteen crew members plunged into the icy water and tried to swim ashore. Only four make it to shore. The other twelve lost their lives.
Wreck is located in regional waters of Åland, Baltic Sea.

3rd Annual DEC Picnic on Sun, August 12th = 36 Huge Boxes of Supplies for 5 PBC Schools! 750 Dems attend barbecue event at John Prince Park
A great time was had by all -- and Belle Glade, Glades View, Lincoln & Pleasant City Elementary Schools, plus the Head Start program of Boynton Beach, each received six huge waist-high boxes filled to the brim with vitally needed classroom school supplies, thanks to the DEC's Third Annual Picnic to Benefit PBC Schoolchildren at John Prince Park on Sunday, August 12th, 2007.
Approximately 750 Democrats braved the August heat for a fun afternoon to benefit area schools, plus meet and greet the many elected officials and candidates who came out to support the day. Adult attendees enjoyed great cookout fare and an afternoon of schmoozing with fellow Dems, while kids had fun with the bounce house, face painting, and demonstrations from the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office Fingerprint, Canine & Mounted units.
Many elected officials who joined the festivities included State Sen. Dave Aronberg; State Reps. Susan Bucher, Richard Machek, Kelly Skidmore & Shelly Vana; Supervisor of Elections Dr. Arthur Anderson, Clerk & Comptroller Sharon Bock; Sheriff Ric Bradshaw; County Comm. Addie Greene; WPB Mayor Lois Frankel; Wellington Vice Mayor Bob Margolis; Belle Glade City Comm. Ray Sanchez; PBC School Board Member Paulette Burdick; and Port Commissioner Dr. Jean Enright. Many candidates running for state house seats and other local offices also mixed and mingled with the appreciative crowd.
Special thanks to the dedicated members of the Precinct Coordinating, Young Democrats, and VOICE Committees who volunteered as Event Staff. Appreciation also goes to Sheriff Ric Bradshaw who supported the event with a large donation of back-to-school supplies from the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, as well as to Murray Kalish & the United South County Democratic Club, and to the United Federation of Teachers for their respective generous contributions of supplies. Thanks also to Lesley Shriberg, Aide to Sheriff Bradshaw for her assistance; to the great Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputies who provided us with traffic control; and to Deputy Debra Hill who coordinated the "guest appearances" of Clue, one of the great dogs from the PBSO Canine Unit and Max, one of the best members of the PBSO Mounted Unit, along with their great Sgts. Deputy Hill worked alongside Asst Volunteer Coordinator Adele Abbot and the dedicated volunteers who manned the information and Fingerprint Kit table. Kudos to all!
The entire chicken, hamburger and hot dog barbecue was underwritten by donations to the party. Thanks to the generosity of all Dems who supported the event, 36 large cardboard boxes were filled with crayons, pens and pencils, paper, notepads, glue, books, backpacks, calculators and many other crucially needed classroom items which will be put to immediate use by PBC schoolchildren in our five designated schools.
Machele Martin, a special-needs counselor at Belle Glade Elementary School, who accepted the donations on behalf of her school, stressed that the donation of a few dollars can mean a great deal to students whose families cannot afford to provide them with even basic school supplies. Sometimes, she said, a new notebook or backpack is all it takes to change a child's attitude about school. "If your basic needs aren't met, it's real easy for your motivation in school to be low," Martin said. "Sometimes it's the simplest, smallest things that can boost a student's self-esteem."
Julia Zecca, a bilingual guidance counselor at Belle Glade, said she spends as much as $2,500 of her own money every year to outfit students and her classroom with basic supplies. Zecca, a teacher since 1992, said some years she has spent twice that amount. "A lot of parents are struggling to pay the bills and make ends meet, so their children are sometimes ill prepared for school," Zecca said. "That can have a real negative effect on a child beginning to learn."

Mit einem Marktpreis von etwa 540 Euro ist die G7 X II sehr preiswert.
Beim Vergleich mit der in vielen Ausstattungspunkten besseren Sony RX100 Mark IV sollte nicht vergessen werden, dass diese auf dem Markt knapp 1.000 Euro kostet.
Das ist preislich fast das Doppelte, und damit eine andere Liga!

L'hôtel de ville de Bruxelles est un édifice de style gothique et classique situé sur la Grand-Place de Bruxelles, au sud de la place, face à la « Maison du Roi ».
Il constitue le seul vestige médiéval de la Grand-Place et est considéré comme un chef-d'œuvre de l'architecture gothique civile et plus particulièrement du gothique brabançon.
L'hôtel de ville est constitué de deux parties stylistiquement très différentes :
l'hôtel de ville de style gothique construit au xve siècle le long de la Grand-Place (avec un retour le long de la rue Charles Buls);
une extension de style classique construite au xviiie siècle, constituée de trois ailes disposées en U à l'arrière de l'édifice gothique, le long de la rue de l'Amigo, de la rue de la Tête d'or et de la rue Charles Buls.
L'hôtel de ville gothique a été construit au xve siècle, en trois temps :
l'aile gauche et la base du beffroi furent édifiées de 1401 à 1421 en remplacement de l'ancienne maison des échevins : les architectes en étaient Jacques van Thienen (élève du hennuyer Jean d'Oisy, fondateur du gothique brabançon), le bourguignon Jean Bornoy et G. Vander Broecke;
l'aile droite, dont la première pierre fut posée par Charles le Téméraire, fut édifiée de 1444 à 1449 et serait l'œuvre de Guillaume de Vogel qui était l'architecte de la ville de Bruxelles en 1452 et qui fut l'auteur de la Magna Aula du palais de Philippe le Bon;
la partie supérieure et la flèche du beffroi dont l'édification fut assurée par Jean van Ruysbroeck de 1449 à 1455.
Historique des ailes de style classique
Le bombardement de la ville par les troupes françaises commandées par le maréchal de Villeroy, en août 1695, endommagea l'hôtel de ville et détruisit la « Halle au Drap » située derrière celui-ci, le long de la rue de l'Amigo.
L'hôtel de ville fut réparé et agrandi par l'architecte-sculpteur bruxellois Corneille van Nerven qui édifia les trois ailes de style classique (style Louis XIV) sur les ruines de la « Halle au Drap », de 1706 à 1717. Jusqu'en 1795, ces ailes abritèrent non pas l'administration communale mais les États du Brabant.
Les restaurations du xixe siècle
L'hôtel de ville a subi de nombreuses campagnes de restauration tout au long du xixe siècle, sous la direction de Tilman-François Suys à partir de 1840 et de Victor Jamaer à partir de 1860, en vue du bicentenaire de la réédification de la Grand-Place en 1696-1697, bicentenaire fêté le 26 juin 1897.
Les statues de l'Hôtel de Ville
Avant le xixe siècle, à part les culs de lampe, les statues des huit prophètes et quelques statues aux tourelles d'angle, l'hôtel de ville n'était pas orné comme maintenant d'innombrables statues. Comme on peut le lire dans Le patrimone monumental de la Belgique. Bruxelles, vol. 1AB, p. 126 : "Sur des gravures de 1564, 1606, 1646 et 1650, les façades principales des deux ailes montre des niches vides de statues, excepté celles du portail d'entrée, du 2e registre de la tour et de la tourelle de l'angle N.-O." et p. 128 : "on travaille à la façade principale de l'aile E. entre 1860 et 1867.
C'est Jamaer qui refit la façade en y ajoutant des niches inexistantes, qui fit la galerie et le perron pour lequel il demanda l'avis de Violet le Duc.
Entre 1844 et 1902 furent exécutées plus de cent cinquante statues en pierre de Caen et d'Echaillon.
Alors que l'Hôtel de ville de Bruxelles n'avait ni statues ni niches, si ce n'est au-dessus du porche les statues des prophètes qui se délitaient, celles-ci furent déposées au Musée communal de Bruxelles et remplacées par des copies.
Les autorités, avaient consulté à l'époque Victor Hugo -alors en séjour à Bruxelles et grand admirateur de la Grand-Place où il habita- désidèrent sur l'avis du poète d'imiter l'Hôtel de Ville de Louvain et de demander à des sculpteurs de remplir la façade qui en était dépourvue, de statues romantiques rappelant des personnages du Moyen Âge.
