It has been a while since our last visit, so we went back to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. We found lots fish, but a whole lot more.

La statue, plus grande que nature (2,11 mètres), représente un jeune homme nu, debout, portant un casque et un anneau à la cheville gauche. Il tenait probablement un bouclier et une lance de la main gauche et une épée dans la main droite1. La statue reprend le contrapposto introduit par Polyclète, mais avec une variante2 : la jambe gauche sert d'appui, étayée contre un tronc de palmier, tandis que la jambe libre, au lieu d'être fléchie vers l'arrière comme chez Polyclète, est tendue à l'avant. La pose préfigure celle du Discophore de Naucydès1,2. La tête est légèrement penchée vers l'avant, dans une pose mélancolique2.
La statue est généralement identifiée comme représentant le dieu Arès, bien qu'il n'existe aucune certitude à cet égard. Pour Furtwängler, l'anneau fait référence à l'épisode homérique où Arès et Aphrodite sont surpris et emprisonnés par Héphaïstos3,2. L'interprétation a été critiquée2. On a également suggéré que l'anneau symbolisait la paix retenant le dieu de la guerre4. Le casque, dont le cimier est perdu, est orné d'un lévrier et de griffons sur les côtés du timbre et de deux lévriers courant sur le frontal. Cette iconographie, relativement inhabituelle, n'est pas d'interprétation certaine5. On a également proposé de voir dans la statue le portrait de Pâris par Euphranor que mentionne Pline l'Ancien6,7 : l'anneau serait simplement un bijou porté par le prince troyen efféminé ; l'hypothèse est minoritaire8.
Le type statuaire était connu, car on en possède une vingtaine de copies9, notamment à la Glyptothèque de Munich (inv. 212) au à la Centrale Montemartini (MC 795). La pose a été réutilisée pour des statues d'empereurs romains, seuls ou avec une statue de Vénus représentant l'impératrice2.

Ao contrário do que a foto possa sugerir, ele cobriu muito bem a unha com apenas duas camadas. Achei o efeito metálico dele incrível, super brilhante.
Deu um pouco de bolinhas, coisa normal nesse calor. Aliás, já tô tão acostumada com as maRditas que quando elas nao aparecem eu acho até estranho, meio como se estivesse faltando alguma coisa. Bizarro, né?

Plus was builded in 1885 on Hamburg, Germany. This 71 meters long Iron barque was heading to Åland in 14.12.1933 on blizzard as difficulties started. The crew of iron barque Plus signalled for a pilot outside Kobba Klintar but none came. Crew was forced to seek route on their own.
Instead of finding the channel the ship ran around, tearing hole in to hull. The hold filled water so quickly there was no time to lower lifeboats. Sixteen crew members plunged into the icy water and tried to swim ashore. Only four make it to shore. The other twelve lost their lives.
Wreck is located in regional waters of Åland, Baltic Sea.

Taken on March 30, 2013 at The Fields Sculpture Park at Omi International Arts Center in Ghent, New York, USA. Strolling the grounds, one finds many interesting artistic expressions. This one looked like a sheet of metal someone had fired upon, repeatedly. We added ourselves to the picture!
The Stinger Plus rig is an in-line system best used on long shooting days. It features our Studio Baseplate for Canon C100-C300-C500 Cameras which attaches to the camera with 3/8” 16 and ¼” 20 screws. This baseplate features a pair of 15mm rods that are 12” long running through the length of the baseplate. You can quickly reposition the rods for various lens lengths by loosening the 2 levers, one on each side of the baseplate. On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm lightweight spaced holes. The side holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an Allen screw. This gives users a virtually unlimited amount of mounting options. The side holes can be used for an EVF, Zacuto articulating arms, rods and more. The baseplate has standard ¼” 20 and 3/8” 16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod.
The Stinger Plus differs from the Stinger by including a Zwiss Plate instead of a Z-Lite weight. The Zwiss Plate allows you attach external recorders and professional batteries such asV-mount style or 3-stud gold mount. This is particularly useful for Canon C500 users. The professional batteries and/or recorder act as a counterbalance to balance your rig. The Stinger Plus also comes with one Wireless Plate Proattached to the side of the Zwiss plate to hold wireless mic receivers, small recorders, etc.. There is room for one extra Wireless Plate Pro. When sitting on a tripod, the Zwiss Plate can mount from the rod ports on the side of the baseplate (via two short female/female rods, not included) for better balance.
The Zwiss plate has been tested with the following recorders- Onboard S, Ki Pro Quad. The Gemini 4:4:4, or any other ¼ 20” accessory, can be attached with anarticulating arm coming from the side of the baseplate, attached to a rod, or attached to an empty rod port on the Zwiss Plate.
This rig can be used on your left or right shoulder. With the shoulder pad and Zwiss plate coming directly off of the back of the baseplate, the rig is perfectly in-line and ready to be used with one of our EVFs for traditional ENG style shooting. You can mount your EVF to the side of the rig using our EVF Standard Mount. This rig is compatible with any 15mm accessories. The Z-Focus would be a great add on accessory if you are looking for a follow focus. Our Grip Relocator, which relocates the Canon C100 & C300 grip to our handgrip, can be attached easily and quickly.*
* The Grip Relocator can also be used with the C500. However, the C500 camera does not come with the Canon Grip. You must purchase that separately from Canon.
