I was thinking about nameing her something earthy like Fawn or Doone but when I put her together last night it hit me, Wren would be her name.
I'm less confident about the changes I made to her...I bought this wig a while back because I loved the color and not at all with a girl in mind. But I think a dark chocolate brown or even a pink brown wig would look better. I'm also hesitant about her chips...I made them specificly into a dark pink brown but now I find them a little too matchy <_< idk, what do you guys think?

Partial billboard, combined with a close-up thumbnail image on the right from a small American Contemporary Graphics Booklet produced in late 1970 or early 1971 for a traveling exhibition.

Only (4) of the (12) 43" wide x 59" tall panels are present. The rest were separated away in 1969 when the seller boldly asked a sign company for whatever they would give him. They just handed him 3 1/3 billboards for free including: "Uncanny In Cans" by John Alcorn (see listing on eBay), Un & Un Is Too" by Kim Whitesides, "Visit Un-derland" by Whitesides and the top left corner of this really trippy "Turn Un" by Pat Dypold.
At least the 4 panels are in perfect New Old Stock (NOS) condition.
This was the very 5th 21'x10' billboard design issued in 1969 to introduce the hugely successful "The UnCola" ad campaign to America. The rainlap diagram on the back of the top left panel A1 lists this as [Design] DES 69-5, C-2692. Pat Dypold illustrated the bulk of the 53+ 7Up UnCola billboard images issued between 1969 and the mid-1970's. Her signature is in the bottom right, next to the rim of the glass. At least 1 copy each of roughly half of those original billboards have been gathered into my collection and saved from destruction or the trash heap, usually one at a time.
The first 5 of 53 billboards were:

DES 69-2, C-2587, "Butterfly & Bottle", Pat Dypold
DES 69-3, C-2588, "Un & Un Is Too", Kim Whitesides (guitars)
DES 69-4, C-2691, "Visit Un-Derland", Kim Whitesides (dancer)
DES 69-5, C-2692, "Turn Un", Pat Dypold, (melting face)
It was 1969 and 7Up wanted to appeal to the youth market. What else can I say... The UnCola adaptation of the popular phrase at the time "Turn On" did NOT refer to flipping light switches on during that era. Look it up if you need further explanation. The original phrase at the time was "Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out" by psychedelic LSD guru Timothy Leary.

I think there might have been something else mixed in with the liquid in the glass. Just imagine seeing this giant billboard actually looming over your local schoolyard back then. No advertiser would even consider doing anything so absolutely BOLD today.

Friday night pictures from an epic, incredible weekend in Leeds. As well as the usual Leeds First Friday event, we were also staying for Leeds Pride on the Sunday - my very first Pride. I met so many wonderful people and had an amazing time, one I will never ever forget.

Among the first words many of us were taught to say are please and thank you. I still distinctly remember a song from Barney which my son (and now my daughter) used to watch all the time. A line of it goes like this:
Please and Thank You, they're called the magic words
No one gets quite as excited as a parent when a toddler first utters those words and makes the connection between asking politely and receiving gratefully. Parents cannot help but feel proud when their little ones learn the meaning of politeness, respect, and gratitude.
However, as we grow older, I suspect we become more adept at saying please than thank you. We focus more on pressing needs than on previous provisions. We petition more than we express whole-hearted gratitude.
As the quote above said, it is not enough that we feel gratitude towards those people who have made a difference in our lives. It is imperative that we show and express those gratitude.
There are 86,400 seconds of today. Have we stopped to spend less than 10 seconds of those to give thanks? And with that, I thank you, my flickr friends for viewing and leaving a part of your thoughts behind on every photo I upload. I don't presume to impress, I only hope to express.

I wanted the stillness of the morning fog to show very little. I want a person to keep looking through those gates and determine themselves where the path goes.
Update Flickr blocked that person from my stream (without my permission, but it's ok with me) and his douche group has been deleted. I'd assume by Flickr. Flickr said they will monitor his comments. I don't know for how long.

A Flickr member, who shall now be nameless, has said a lot of things about me on my photo called I'm ____ Like The ____. You can no longer read the notes, Flickr deleted them.
This is America. We have free speech. If it's his opinion that I am a douche, fine. If he thinks I'm stupid, that's fine too. It's his opinion and he is entitled to it.
But several things bother me.
1) He used foul language.
2) His attitude towards homosexuality.
When someone says "that's gay" - that is a slur and homophobic remark. Allowing comments like his is like saying it's ok to gay-bash.
Sidebar - Gays and lesbians all over this country (and I'd guess most of the world) are denied equal rights. And it's people with attitudes like his that prevent homosexuals from being treated equal under the law.
How could homosexual marriage ruin this country?
People like Tiger Woods with his numerous mistresses and Britney Spears with her less than 48 hour marriage (and divorce) and that web site that hooks up married people to have discreet affairs are what really ruin marriage and family values.
3) The third thing bothers me the most. It's what prompted me to take this as it hit me close to home. It was when he referred to me as a "ginnie" and a "guido"
These terms are ETHNIC SLURS!
If someone on Flickr calls you a ______ (insert racist term, hate filled term, or ethnic slur here) because you are ______ (insert skin color, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation here) - should this be allowed in the Flickr community?
I think not.
I emailed Flickr about this - their response was to block him.
This really doesn't help solve the problem. Behavior like this will continue.
PLEASE DON'T send him hate mail or make negative comments on his stream. That would not solve anything and I am not looking to start a fight.
But if you agree that behavior like this is unacceptable - I ask you to email Flickr.
And please forward this photo to all of your friends who would agree that this type of behavior is unacceptable and should not be allowed.
There is enough hate, intolerance, and ignorance in this world. Do we need it here on Flickr too?
