This rose looks like it's either crying or screaming... (or perhaps both)

. . . . well except from the reserve!
it’s that time of year again where i have a rant about 'naughty photographers'
basically while the seals have their pups at donna nook photographers are asked NOT TO go on the beach and instead stay at the reserve
iv campaigned with the lincolnshire wildlife trust for years about this - as there is evidence to show that disturbing them on the beach leads to mothers abandoning pups, and deaths
from last year:
“the request for photographers to stay off the beach seems to be working very well this year – only four people have gone out in total . . . a few people have tried to venture out, but this weekend the tides were in our favour . . . so a clean sheet for what was last year our worst weekend.
so that’s 1,500+ in 2009 before the request, 300+ in 2010 when we started, 150 last year and only 4 so far this year
a great result for the seals and respect for the vast majority of photographers who are happy to work with us”

Kind of copying the wonderful work my Flickr friend, RainerSchuetz does with trees and landscapes! I can't come close to what he does! See his marvelous set:
The Good Luck Bar is closing its doors in a matter of days. The story is a familiar one — a property developer sees the future of their land differently than those who rent that land. We must save the bar's neon sign! Moving the Good Luck neon sign will require two sign cranes, a four-person crew, and sign trucks for removal and transportation. With the sign close to a major intersection and multiple powerlines, it will be a tough sign to access and remove.
I've sat at Good Luck's bar many a time, in the dim ambiance of red and black lacquer walls, and knocked back more than my fair share of Yee Mee Loo cocktails. Personally, I never want to see Good Luck fade away which is why I'm starting this Go Fund Me program to support the Museum of Neon Art (MONA, www.neonmona.org) to move the Good Luck neon and bulb sign from its perch above Hillhurst and Hollywood Boulevard and into the museum's collection of historic signs.
The Good Luck neon will join MONA's other restored Hollywood signs such as the 40-foot-long Grauman's Chinese Theatre dragon and Hollywood Brown Derby rooftop signs. The museum celebrates neon art and signs across the country, but we can't let a beloved local icon such as Good Luck fall to a wrecking ball.
Please join me in donating to the Museum of Neon Art for deinstalling and transporting the Good Luck sign. Any funds over the requested amount will go towards the museum’s sign preservation fund. Please don't let this icon wind up in a dumpster! Let's save it with the Museum of Neon Art!

Taking a break from the Galaxy class but trying out various techniquesfor future starships.
This is a long-term exploration ship equipped to create temporary artificial wormholes based on experiments from ds9.
At the moment, it looks fairly good, except from the side--at which point it looks very ugly-duckling. The circular shield for the deflector dish will be replaced with an oval shield in either trans blue or trans purple w/ the gungan shield pattern. The square hole behind the deflector dish is where the stand goes. I'm thinking about adding a dedicated runabout behind the bridge area and above the impulse engine but it could also go underneath the engine struts.

Shot from my front yard, and through my rhododendron tree, this is the roof of my next door neighbor's (to the east) house.
Notice the photo was taken on the 19th. Since Saturday, the 27th, things have started to thaw a bit... now we have a lovely combination of snow, ice and slush... yuk... even harder to walk around in.

In the summer of 2003, Jordanian archaeologists removed the retaining wall in front of the Khazneh and excavated down 13 to 16 feet (4 –5 m). To their surprise, they found two previously unknown tombs directly below the Khazneh. Access to these tombs had been by steps on one side and an inclined plane on the other. As of 2004, you can see a partial glimpse of one of the tombs below.. Petra, Jordan
