The Institut de France, (French Institute) is a French learned society, grouping five académies, the most famous of which is the Académie française.
The Institute manages approximately 1,000 foundations, as well as museums and châteaux open for visit. It also awards prizes and subsidies, which amounted to a total of €5,028,190.55 for 2002. Most of these prizes are awarded by the Institute on the recommendation of the académies.

These baby bunnies are so adorably tiny (about 4.5" long) that they can sit in the palm of your hand - just like real baby bunnies!

We had a great BTS (behind the scenes) tour of the hyenas at Riverbanks Zoo. We all got turns brushing these guys and boy did they enjoy it.
I know the photos are not that good with the bars and all but the memory was!

it’s that time of year again where i have a rant about 'naughty photographers'
basically while the seals have their pups at donna nook photographers are asked NOT TO go on the beach and instead stay at the reserve
iv campaigned with the lincolnshire wildlife trust for years about this - as there is evidence to show that disturbing them on the beach leads to mothers abandoning pups, and deaths
from last year:
“the request for photographers to stay off the beach seems to be working very well this year – only four people have gone out in total . . . a few people have tried to venture out, but this weekend the tides were in our favour . . . so a clean sheet for what was last year our worst weekend.
so that’s 1,500+ in 2009 before the request, 300+ in 2010 when we started, 150 last year and only 4 so far this year
a great result for the seals and respect for the vast majority of photographers who are happy to work with us”

This one's a Honey
Honeybees are flying insects, and close relatives of wasps and ants. They are found on every continent on earth, except for Antarctica.
Bees of all varieties live on nectar and pollen. Without bees, pollination would be difficult and time consuming - it is estimated that one-third of the human food supply depends on insect pollination.
Bees have a long, straw-like tongue called a probiscus that allows them to drink the nectar from deep within blossoms. Bees are also equipped with two wings, two antennae, and three segmented body parts (the head, the thorax, and the abdomen). Honeybees are social insects that live in colonies.
The hive population consists of a single queen, a few hundred drones, and thousands of worker bees.
