Re-processed. I have the modesty to believe that this photo is reminding of Henri Cartier-Bresson's famous photo "Derrière la gare Saint-Lazare" (1932) Of course mine is not as good...

Moved on from Bordeaux to Montmoreau and the quiet of the rural Charente. Lots of opportunities and lots of time to edit in the sunshine.
Sorry if I haven't kept up well with your wonderful streams, I look forward to seeing your amazing work!

Le miroir d'eau face à la Place de la Bourse à Bordeaux- France
Épais de quelques centimètres, ce mince plan d'eau attire jeunes et vieux qui y pataugent et s'amusent ////
The Water Mirror in front of La Place de la Bourse in Bordeaux, France. Couple centimeters tick this special water fountain attracks young and older people who come there to play and refresh themselves.
No, this is not a magic place between two worlds, this is the miroir d'eau at Bordeaux in front of the city's place of the bourse.
It was fun jumping on the water mirror through the fog bank that appears every 30 minutes or so. We again went there during night - and I can assure you that our trousers weren't dry afterwards ;)

This is a photo I took of "Place de la Bourse" in Bordeaux France where I was living
for over a year. I was awe struck by this structure and continued to go back
and admire its beauty.
This is one of my favorite photographs that I had taken while I was traveling and
living abroad.
I hope you enjoy and comments and favs are always greatly appreciated!
Thanks for viewing!

This place is such a great spot for photos! We'll be back I'm sure... Here's Rach having fun! Love the iPhone Pano option. Hello, Bordeaux.
Miroir d'Eau at Place de la Bourse. Bordeaux, France.
Bordeaux is listed as a World Heritage Site whc.unesco.org/en/list/1256
(French: Mirroir d´eau). The long dark thing in the middle to the left is a tram.
The building of the square started in the 1730s, designed by architect Jacques Gabriel (1667-1742). The name was then Place Royale (Royal Square), today it´s Place de la Bourse (Stock Exchange Square),

Bordeaux has more protected buildings than any other French city except Paris. Region: New Aquitaine (French: Nouvelle-Aquitaine).
The city centre of Bordeaux is an Unesco World Heritage: "Bordeaux, Port of the Moon", ref 1256.
Bordeaux is one of the most architecturally beautiful cities I've ever had the good fortune to visit. Wherever I looked, I was surrounded and astounded by 18th century splendour, thanks to great architects such as Jacques Gabriel, and the city’s two inspired city administrators, Louis-Urbain-Aubert de Tourny and Claude Boucher.
This is my night panorama of Place de la Bourse, designed by Gabriel, down on the city’s fine riverfront. In the centre is le Bistrot du Gabriel, named after the great architect.
The Miroir d'eau (Water Mirror) or Miroir des Quais (Quay Mirror) in Bordeaux is the world's largest reflecting pool, covering 3,450 square metres (37,100 sq ft). Located on the quay of the Garonne in front of the Place de la Bourse, it was built in 2006. It is made of granite slabs covered by 2 cm of water. In summer, a system allows it to create fog every 15 minutes.

When you have as many photographs of a certain city like I do of this one, you need to keep going back.
That having been said let's make our way back to Bordeaux. The vibrant city I called home for over a year.
If you've been following my stream you've all seen this view before this is shot a few minutes after that one with a few other elements. I like how I've captured the silhouettes on the right, of the teenage girls, and was even able to catch the tram parked at its stop at Place de la Bourse, letting riders off and on. Besides some lens correction, contrast and some sharpening, this is pretty much straight out of the camera. No blending, HDR or shadows/highlights in post processing. Please see this one LARGE.
This is the 2nd step in the fountains process that sits across from the elegant building. First it fills up with about a quarter inch of water, then the water disappears which then creates the picture perfect reflection. Then a light mist is let out from the small grates, which you see here.
I hope you enjoy the view, I know it's one of my favourites! If you haven't already, you can check out my ongoing set from Bordeaux here. Enjoy!
Comments, critiques and faves are always appreciated! : )
