Well it's confirmed, Pixie is pregnant! She was x-rayed today and she is expecting two and it is imminent!! Hopefully we will be able to find good homes for them. Do you think she knew that when she walked into our lives? - lol
Pixie was with us in this world for only nine and a half days , she was a shining star to all of us during that time, she brought joy and happiness to her family and will be forever in our hearts .
Sadly she was taken from us too early, rest in peace little angel.
Despite the late April chill, a pixie makes her way northward for the summer season. Flying must have been rough this past week with the storms. Pixies follow similar migration routes as hummingbirds and are often mistaken for hummingbirds.
You have to be quick (and innocently child-like) to spot the pixies; most adults don’t believe in them, hence do not see them.
I saw these crocheted hats on Esty, and I knew it would make a great prop for a photo. You could purchase either the ready-made hat or the pattern to crochet it yourself. Being too cheap to buy the ready-made hat, I wanted to crochet it myself. Only one slight problem...I didn't know how to crochet. Not to be daunted by such a 'small' detail, I set out on a mission. First I canvassed just about everyone I know to find someone who could teach me, or better yet, make the hat for me. No luck. Still not defeated, I took to Youtube and taught myself how to crochet. I quickly learned that simply knowing how to do the stitches is not the same as following patterns and making an actual garment. So, I had to practice, practice, practice. I have spent the past few months crocheting my heart out. (All my family received hand-made dish cloths and coasters for Christmas). Finally, at last, I felt I was ready to tackle the hat. and TA DA...one dog hat. Here is the irony, outside of all the crochet hooks and balls of wool I purchased while learning to crochet, and purchasing the pattern itself, by the time I had bought the orange and white wool for Pixie's hat, I had spent more than if I'd just bought the ready-made hat from Etsy. It seems that while a tiny, little hat may only use a small portion of a ball of wool, they make you purchase the whole ball. LOL. I have enough wool to make hats for everybody! (no, I'm not offering to do so) Oh well, at least I have a new skill and the satisfaction of having made it myself. And Pixie looks pretty cute in her snazzy hat.
Posting and running today as my big birthday approaches. It is a long weekend of celebrations, starting with a family birthday lunch in Weston Super Mare, then on Sunday night we are off to a local Michelin star restaurant for dinner and finally on Monday I am having a glorious spa day at the Chewton Glen Hotel - wooo hooo!
Happy Furry Friday!
Wishing everyone as much fun as I am going to have.
Oh and if you want to know the birthday see the photo in comments below

This cake was based on some little models the customer had. I don't know who made them, but they were really sweet. I took three pics as there wasn't really a front or back to this cake.

As soon as I saw Liv's week 35 photo, Pokey's bed, I knew that was the photo I wanted to use for this challenge when the time came. Turns out, it's much harder than it looks. I've spent hours working on this, and I'm not all that thrilled with the results. Partly because Pixie wasn't that helpful with her posing, and partly because of my shooting/photoshop skills. I only managed 5.5 Pixies to 7 Pokeys. I suppose it's not a bad first attempt.
Quite frankly, this is how it many Pixies it feels like are on the bed at night. For a small dog, she takes up a lot of room.
This is Pixie pretending to be asleep while she is planning her next attack . She quite often sits on the top of the sofa where she can look out of the window. This time she has sunk down between cushions with only her head visible
Pixie is always on hand to help with the gardening. Today it was a Kiwi plant that I pruned and the cats seem to love the freshly cut stems of this plant - almost like catnip .

A cute little clematis that I found in a garden centre and bought because I knew it would photograph well. Though I was surprised how quickly all the petals fell off.
Great place to sit if you're a cat or a teenager maybe without a care in the world. Pixie and Kaiser often choose the staircase to relax on and they can see what's cooking in the kitchen. Another rainy day so jobs around the house today.
This is Pixie half way up her favourite tree where she stops to listen and survey the scene before proceeding to the top and leaping onto the roof of the shed. She also bites and chews the cut off branch under her chin and leaves her scent on it so no other cats can claim the tree .
While Bigbird3 and I are watching Netflix in the The living room , Pixie quite often gets Catflix on the PC . Action films with fish and mice are her favourites . She completely hogs the computer by sitting in front of the screen , of course , but that's what cats do !
Hunter`s PXI 1319 (Pixie) certainly tricked me today, as it is rare for this to return to the depot midweek, as it is normally out-based for the week.
