Taking pictures of Pixie in the car...while it's moving.

Hunter`s PXI 1319, an Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian, seen descending Royal Oak Way, Daventry, having just left the depot on a school contract. Sadly this vehicle has now been withdrawn, and the plates have transferred to a coach.

Beware the pixies in the forest. Don't listen to their whispers. Whatever you do, don't follow them.

I think my Nan used to say this when she disapproved of someone's behaviour. Pixie seems to be giving Ray that same look !

Some lenses seem to have pixie dust. A certain way of rendering that is quite magical and lifts the lens to a new level compared to other lenses. Or at least that's what the owners say :-).

The Helios 40 has this pixie dust, especially when it comes to swirly bokeh. People tend to love the swirls or find them distracting. (I love it). The lens's reputation for swirls does hide some other strengths, both the smoothness wide open and the rendering stopped down. 85mm @ f1.5 is a pretty special combination.

Had a lot of fun taking this photo, attached to a Spotmatic, with a Helios 44-2, and some white fairy lights. ...Yes, they were all white, no idea how the pixies turned them to different colours.....(it wasn't my processing - it was the blue tint/coating to the glass).

I was told that this looked like a sprinkling of pixie dust on the salar .... I'm not going to argue.

The Salar de Uyuni has a variety of surface textures, ranging from the 'classic' hexagons, to this spiky area of raised crystals. Given that it's very flat - or, over the whole 10,582 square kilometres, convex strictly speaking - I hoped that the Sun would illuminate the tips of the crystals when it rose. It did, but I hadn't anticipated that the time from first light to 'completely blasted with glaring light' would be less than two seconds! As it is, this is a little more light that I'd aimed for; I blame that on slow reactions on my part in pressing the shutter release remote ;-)

Sonja love Pixie so much, she always want to be close too him.

Pixie loves Sonja too, he is the perfect bigbrother. The way he treats the babies makes me proud =)

At last the wisteria has bloomed and added some colour to the Pixie's tree-house . Sometimes as you pass underneath , her paw comes down and taps you on the head. When visiting my garden it is sensible to wear a hat for protection.

A break for Pixie between exhausting games - climbing trees , pouncing on anything that moves etc.etc... The break normally lasts a few seconds .Happy Furry Friday ! .

Pixie, a stunning September morning.

While meandering through these woods on Friday, marvelling at how destructive, at least in the short term logging is to an eco system I stumbled across this small uprooted tree. I love the way the roots are assembled, giving the feel of a structure rather than something more natural. I imagine the pixies taking shelter in here while all around them, the woods they are inhabiting and caring for are torn asunder by the demands of men.

On a side note its nice to get some warmer weather here in the UK this week. Clear blue skies are not ideal for my kind of photography but at least I can relax in the sun in my back garden for a couple of hours while I try to get over my second bout of tonsillitis in three weeks!

I'm Pixie and I've got sharp claws and I'm not afraid to use them - especially if you try to tickle my tummy ! That's why my humans are covered in scratches .... Happy Furry Friday

This new curtain is ideal for Pixie where she practices her surprise attacks on anything that moves nearby.

Pixie is enjoying the current mini heat-wave as it's nice and cool in her house.

We are meant to be visiting an alpaca farm tomorrow but unfortunately the forecast is for rain. It is something we had to book and pay for in advance so we either have to go and get wet or lose the money. I do have a waterproof camera!!

Happy Furry Friday everyone

Wishing you a happy and fun packed weekend

My friend got a new puppy and I got to take pictures of her today. She is a cutie. :)

Pixie loves to hug this pillow and she usually ends up falling off the bed !

My camera produces an image that measures 4,928 x 3,264 pixels. The goal is to fill that blank canvas with as many pleasing pixel combinations as possible. I'm never sure when I hear the shutter clicking if the pixels will please or disappoint. I am increasingly guided by how the scene feels rather than how it looks. On this morning I sensed the glow of the dew covered grass as it reflected the rising sun. Wasn't sure how it would photograph but I just liked how it made me feel. I love the way the grass is illuminated, almost like it's in a giant studio. The scattered leaves remind me of peppercorns and I give a sense of depth.

This might be the last of our warm weather and Pixie and I tried to make the most of it. I took a million photos... now I need more time to edit them all... x3

I asked the pixie to show off her pixie dust power. After consuming a couple pine nuts and honey, she obliged, really turning it up. I was impressed. I’m just glad we did this photo shoot outdoors. After the magical sparkles ebb, pixie dust needs to be swept up like all the other dust.

Wouldn't it be nice to hide in a glass globe? Just lounging on a flower petal.

Pixie loves to help around the edge of the pond. She has found a good spot next to the toad to relax or maybe nibble a few plants.
