Pixie Lore
Pixies dwell in the twilight, between day and night, between the heavens and the earth, between the conscious and the unconscious... where all things are possible, where our past and future meet, where we meet ourselves coming back. When we dance with the pixies, we dance with the reflections of our true selves and the true nature of the world.
Pixies love to dance. Their music is the most haunting and beautiful ever heard by human ears. Music filled with ancient sadness, as sweet as fresh honey, deeply sensual, with rhythms that are tranquil one moment, demented the next. Because of the limitations of the human ear, it is a music that is more felt then heard. Pixies often dance in circles, leaving rings of flattened grass to mark the sites of their midnight revels-- or circles of toadstools springing up where Pixie feet have trod.

It's a tiny metal pixie sitting in a little shell.
Phiil built a small 'extension' on to the original Kaiser's Castle which is at the bottom of the garden, covered in wisteria. He purposely built it with Pixie in mind as she is tiny and would be the only one who could actually fit in it. Now she is out and about in the garden she has secured it as her own. If you knew what I had to go through to get this shot: I had to stick my arms through the wisteria and point in the general direction of the house and hope for the best (see photo in comments below) After several failed attempts - success! I also got covered in lots of red hive like bumps which meant that I had either been bitten by something else living in there or that I am allergic to wisteria. Glad to say after a dose of antihistamine and a warm salt bath I am spot free.

Pixie seems to be smiling here . She was sitting in front of the fire and had just eaten the corner of the box she was sitting in, so life at that moment couldn't have been better for her.
Well conditions were certainly different this week, thick fog/low cloud,
i still love the woods in these conditions but i find it more of a challenge to find a pleasing image.
met up with 2 Phils and along with Paul we wandered looking for inspiration.
We had almost finished and where walking back to the car, but decided we would have one last wander around .i found this clearing with Pixie tents well that's what Phil Selby told me they where so that must be right.
what ever they are they add some interest to the image, there was quite a breeze so there is some movement in the leaves
"All you need is faith and trust... and a little bit of pixie dust!"
That quote perfectly describes my feelings about my first workshop yesterday. I was beyond excited to meet my group and see what everyone had to offer, and I was nervous too...that I would suddenly forget how to create an image! So I thought it only appropriate to do a Peter Pan picture :-)
It was an absolutely wonderful day from start to finish. I think that we all learned something, and we definitely all had a laugh at some of my odd techniques both in shooting and editing!! :-P I am bursting with excitement for the next one now!

Pixies, tiny and mischievous, dance in moonlit glades, weaving magic through nature. With shiny wings, they leave traces of enchantment in firefly twinkle and rustling leaves, bringing moments of wonder to those lucky enough to witness their playful presence.
The cats always manage to find any rays of sunshine that make it into our house: this time it was Pixie's turn.

Phill brings me a cup of tea each morning and Pixie always races him up the stairs and onto the bed to check out how I am doing. Two weeks since my operation and everything is going well. It is so hot here at the moment so not a lot of movement from any of us. Next Wednesday I have my staples out - yeah!

I’d like to believe it’s an enchanted place. Too early for pixies to come out and play as it was in the afternoon. Graybeard Mountain overlook, NC, Blue Ridge Parkway
The new bedroom arrived, complete with mirrors. I had to cover the mirrors for a couple of days because Polly kept trying to paw and reach the other dog behind the glass (eventually she lost interest). As for Pixie, she likes to lie in front of the mirror and watch her reflection.
