°°°°°°°°°°°
On the ice, an unexpected scene unfolds ...
Mama bear and her little cub are wrapped in a giant hug.
It’s a special day: the cub has learned to take its first steps on the ice without falling!
To celebrate, they share a moment of tenderness, forgetting the polar chill.
Who said bears don’t have hearts ? 😉

°°°°°°
In the quiet strength of their walk, this mother bear embodies the tenderness and protection that define the spirit of family among mammals.
Each step is a reminder that growing up means moving forward together !

Hunting mainly by ambush, it feeds primarily on small mammals (shrews, voles), small birds caught in flight, as well as insects, amphibians, and reptiles. It has the particular habit of storing food in its nest. It is quite aggressive and territorial, and adult birds avoid encountering each other.
The pygmy owl can turn its head very flexibly thanks to 14 cervical vertebrae, twice as many as humans, giving it exceptional observational ability.

Created with 4 Wombo images, combined in Pixelmator Pro and enhanced with painterly texture with Impresso Pro.
Prompt for grape image: ultra realistic grapes. For roses: ultra realistic flowers.
Input photo: yellow leaves (below in comments)
Style: The City
I blended the grapes with the roses. The wine bottle and glass appeared in two images using the grapes prompt.
Cheers to the weekend!

°°°°°°°°°
A crocodile can attack prey even when it is not hungry.
Crocodiles are opportunistic carnivores and may attack due to instinct, territorial behavior, or opportunistic circumstances rather than actual hunger.
They spend long periods conserving energy and can survive without eating for extended times by slowing their metabolism, so hunger is not always the driving factor behind their attacks.
Their attacks can be triggered by movement or the presence of potential prey, regardless of whether they need food at that moment.
This behavior shows that crocodile attacks are not always motivated by immediate need for food but can also relate to natural instincts and territorial defense !

The faded green copper domes of the Church of the Great Martyr, St. George the Victorious, rise above the skyline, serving as an impressive landmark to all travelers on the 401. Set in the heart of Old Oshawa, on Albert Street, the church has long been the spiritual home for Ukrainian Catholics living in an area stretching between Scarborough and Kingston. The parish itself was established circa 1912.

“Radio playin' softly
Some singer's sad sad song
He's singin' about standin' in the shadows of love
I guess he feels awfully alone
She says I know exactly what he means
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And it's a sad, sad, sad, sad feelin'
When you're livin' on those in-betweens
But it's okay…”

°°°°°°°
Over the skies of Brussels, Coco and Lolo, two rather proud goldfinches, decided to settle their disagreement… with an aerial showdown !
Twisting and diving, their battle looked like something straight out of an action movie.
But at the last moment, they chose to share the sky… and most importantly, the seeds !
The moral of the story: sometimes, it’s better to soar together than to fight over nothing 😉

°°°°°°°°
With his wise rasta look, this cat proudly sports natural “braids”, the poetic result of a carefree life or just a brush-free routine.
Quirky yet full of tenderness, he reveals a unique charm that reminds us beauty sometimes hangs by a thread … of fur, naturally🤔

You can play 'spot the object' in this shot — there are a lot of them! Excluding a couple of days of planning and drying flowers, this shot took 3 hours to compose and shoot and another hour to post-process (mainly removing hot pixels!). Three separate exposures have been blended (all in Pixelmator in the iPad) — one for the left side, one for the oil lamp and one to highlight the burner flame). Further tweaking in Snapseed using multiple stack edits with #Snapseed's excellent masking capabilities.

°°°°°°°°
t is estimated that a pangolin is taken from the wild by poachers every five minutes.
Much of the demand for pangolins is driven by their scales, which are used for medicinal purposes, and their meat, which is a delicacy in certain Asian cultures.
Pangolins also face other threats, including habitat destruction and electrocution.
If a pangolin encounters an electric fence, its natural defense mechanism — curling up — means it wraps itself around the wire.
