Not sure why, but these pinecones at the arboretum always seem to look so much prettier than the ones in our yard.

Maybe it's because the trees going next to the lake have a better water source? Or, maybe it's because I don't have to pick these up when they fall? LOL!

Mariner Point Park

My son, Kyle, brought this pinecone home a few days ago. It looked interesting so of course I hijacked it so I could take some pics of it.

It looks way cool when you View On Black

I had to take my son back to Pittsburgh after he spent a week or so with me. What a time we had! I was sad for our time together to end.

I soothed myself by taking the long way home out Route 30 and stopping at one of my favorite mountain overlooks near Breezewood in the Buchanan State Forest.

It was rainy and misty which was perfect for my mood.

Week 18 Be Still 52 class. "Organic". To me, organic just means natural. This is one of the many pinecones that fall on our old dock, this time of year. (used Kim's barelycolor preset)

More frosty shots, I loved the look of the frost on these Pine Needles, with the lovely Pinecones... Very seasonal looking I thought...

The second shot is my Rosehip Bush in the garden, Love how the white of the frost brings out the red of the Rosehips...

I liked the contrast of the pinecone and the green of the bush.

Little mushrooms growing out of a Pinecone

I cut left instead of going straight or right and came at at the blacktop by the treatment plant. Hope tomorrow I can make it further. Just so many cool birds have been at the lake that I hate to leave it.,

If you can make the climb these rare pinecones are hundreds of feet off the ground! But they sure catch a high bid on the black market

A rather large and imposing fellow, this pill bug, happily hiding in his pine cone in the forest.
