I drew this from a pinecone that I picked up in Fitzroy Gardens. It looked so traditional and Christmas-sy that I added the writing, then decided to get it printed as a card. The cards arrived yesterday and look great except I cut the side of the page off when I uploaded them Grrr

So if you receive one in the mail that is the story behind it !

Mushrooms growing out of a pinecone (Strobilurus trullisatus)

Wherever I am, the world comes after me.

It offers me busyness.

It does not believe that I do not want it.

 

Now I understand why the old poets of China

went so far

and high into the mountains,

then crept into the pale mist...

Yay for... super-harsh bokeh. XD

 

Ah, well. It's sort of interesting. Almost like wind in a painting.

Day 135/365 - small pinecone macro.

An idea I've been tinkering and tinkering with, pinecones of wool. These are made of wool coats that I've turned into felt. They each hang from a jute loop and can be used as ornaments.
