A few days ago we had a branch weighed down with some snow fall in the front yard of our house. And so I recovered a pinecone or two for Christmas decorations. Here's one of them photographed with the Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens.

These little cones were not purple, but brown. They seem to be more mature.
