Allergies woke me up early and wouldn't let me go back to sleep. Finally I got up and baked the two sourdough loaves I'd set in pans to rise overnight. Normally I would bake them the same day, but we keep the house cool around 20C in the winter so the dough doesn't rise as quickly. I used a loaf in this still life with a cone from a red pine, picked up on one of my walks. My office smells of oats, maple syrup, and sourdough. At least chronic congestion usually doesn't affect my sense of smell.
Thank you to everyone who visits, faves, and comments.
This squirrel detached this cone from a tree and came down to retrieve it. Unfortunately a couple of people saw him and approached him with their cell phones, causing him to run while rolling the cone in front of him
This is the wrong tree for these pine cones. And they certainly don't grow like this, but it's how I found them
On March 5, 2020 I was visiting my son at King of Prussia, PA. We went to lunch at Broadcasting Square in Wyomissing, PA. Along the building where we were eating I found nature to be budding. I would come back later and take images with my Canon Rebel. I found it hard to believe that holly with berry bushes were blooming along side of Pinecone trees.Photo Images credited to Vickie L Klinkhammer of Vickielynne Photography and Designs (VLP&Designs). To get the multicolor look, I had the LED overhead light turned on with multiple colors. The lights looked really garish, but once the light hit the pinecones, it softened.
