Nearly all of the pineapples in our local Sainsburys come from Costa Rica and this is how they originally looked. They are members of the bromeliad family and Costa Rica certainly grows a lot.

I haven't made Chutney in years. But, thought I'd make some today since I'm going to be making Samosas this week. The combination should be tasty. This Chutney has all sorts of spices in it including cloves.

As others have commented, some contacts' posts aren't showing up in my feed and I guess I'm not showing up in others. I will come back and add tags and info later because I posted this directly as "public." I usually post "private" and add description and tags and then change to public. Some have suggested that private-then-change- to-public posting may be part of the activity feed glitch. I will also start visiting you streams directly since some photos aren't in my activity feed.

This is a 20-shot focus stacked image, after three or four false starts. Finally, I got an image I was satisfied with. But it is still not perfect by any means!

I think I picked a tough subject – it is very hard to see the details of the pineapple, even in live view!

I learned the hard way that focus-stacking close ups is a lot more difficult than focus-stacking landscapes, which can be managed pretty easily with 3-4 shots, at most.

Hope to take more close ups...

the pineapple is a big deal here in Va, and you can't go many places w/o seeing one!

Saw this setup some time ago, in a piece of art ; here I tried to recreate something similar through photography, only my pineapples are not very even.

Scavenger Challenge - September 2017 Assignment - Vegetables and Fruits

In September, we're going to explore vegetables and fruits! This will also give you some practice in the creation of classic still life images, so please devote some of your efforts to making pleasing arrangements of them while incorporating objects such as vases, books, candlesticks and the like into your images. Bear in mind that this is not mandatory.

Days of Shooting – Week 12 (w/b 24th September) One Word: Yes, just one word will make your photo for each day of this week …. whatever that one word is then please ensure that it is the focal point of the image. The “one word” should be the title of your photograph and where possible each day of the week should be of a different “one word” subject.
