A 100% Australian "mini gold" pineapple in my kitchen waiting to be used in my next homemade pizza. It is the smallest pineapple I have ever seen, about 100mm in diameter.
No oil, no butter, super moist and very easy to make.
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
1 can (20oz) crushed pineapple with juice
1 cup minced nuts..I used almonds
Mix all ingredients and bake at 350F for 45 minutes in a 9x13 pan
Sprinkle with icing sugar when cool
a zoom-in of the last image. Quality not so good in this one. Hard time focusing with all the mist/rain.

We have two feijoa trees on our property - Feijoa, also known as pineapple guava or guavasteen, is what we call it. They resemble olive trees in color, with sage-like leaves, and grow quite slowly. They’re supposed to bear fruit, but they’ve never produced much. I guess these trees need a bit more love and attention than they’ve been getting, so I’ll work on that.
This season, they produced about 5-6 fruits total, and this is one of them.
Feijoas are very popular in New Zealand, I’ve heard that almost every house has one. Is that true?

Our feijoa tree is covered with buds, and this is its first bloom. Interestingly, it’s the only bloom so far, the rest are still buds.

It is grown as an ornamental plants for its decorative red fruit. The leaves are long with sharp spines, so it can be used as a protective hedge for home security. The ripe fruit is more or less palatable (depending on clones), but it is smaller (less than one kilo), usually full of seeds, fibrous, lacking in juice and less fleshy than commercial pineapples, but very attractive.

One day last week, my wife was manically wrangling fabric and thread and mysterious stuff like, making clothes for the grandkids apparently, I thought it wise to embark on a noble quest — to find the perfect hamburger near a beach. With vigilance and a great sense of responsibility, I acquired a hamburger with the works: beetroot, pineapple, bacon, egg... all the important food groups, from a surf club cafe at Soldiers Beach. I washed it down with a chocolate milkshake while watching whales carve their way through the sea with effortless grace. Between Jul-Nov more than 25,000 Humpback whales travel the “humpback highway” down the east coast of Australia to their feeding grounds in Antarctica. They probably take this scenic route because I suspect hamburgers may be a bit hard to come by down there!
But let’s address the most important matter here: pineapple. I reckon there are two kinds of people in the world — those who embrace the sweet, tangy joy of pineapple on burgers and pizzas and those who are tragically misguided. I, naturally, stand proudly with Team Pineapple. Pineapple tastes like summer to me 🍍🍔 🍕 ☀️ 🍹 Extra on my pizza. Always.

There was a pineapple guava tree blooming on the SDSU campus. I wonder who collects the fruit? 😋 I have planted this type of guava in my garden few weeks ago. Hoping for some flowers soon.

My Daughters house had a Redwood tree fall through the roof. Luckily nobody got hurt but the have to vacate the home for about 6 months while repairs are made.
