What would nowadays probably be called a DRT (Demand-Responsive Transport) service started up in Harlow in August 1974, sponsored by Department of the Environment, Harlow Development Corporation, Harlow District Council and Essex County Council (according to Commercial Motor - some sources only mention the first two of these). Marketed as "Pick-Me-Up", it ran between Old Harlow and various destinations in and around the town centre on a flexible route, with trips bookable by phone. One of the five Ford Transits with Dormobile bodywork that were allocated for the service, FT5 (XPE125N) rounds the town centre roundabout on 19 September 1974. On the right, two larger and more conventional buses wait to pull out onto the roundabout.

Need a pick me up? I know I do, sometimes :) This is what's been on my heart this morning.
For when a cup of coffee just isn't enough:
“(1)Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, (2)through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. (3)Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; (4)perseverance, character; and character, hope. (5)And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” - Romans 5:1-5
This is one of my favorite quotes from the Bible. Every word in it holds a powerful message.
-Justified through Faith (Thank you, God, that I don't have to be "good enough!")
-we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (who doesn't need some peace these days)
-we have gained access by faith into his GRACE (Amazing Grace...)
-we REJOICE in the HOPE of the GLORY of God (I want to sing a song after thinking about this part!)
-we REJOICE in our sufferings (not always my first thought, but check out the second part of this--->), BECAUSE we KNOW that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
-HOPE does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts
AMEN!
I just wanted to share this verse with you today, because I figure we could all use a little encouragement for one reason or another.

I am now editing a recent shot out at McIntosh/Lohr Ag Museum from their early spring opening day. This is probably an iron cable support for his skid to lift and move Mac's supplies and feed around. Was this skid constructed on the spot for heavy lifting? If so, he may have found mail order hardware. The skid is dumped out by the silo beyond the red Dickens barn. There were sawmills scattered throughout the hills and mining camps. I grabbed this shot on a walk out at McIntosh Agricultural Museum in March. I'll push on and look for stuff. Who knows?
Some of my captures need a load of editing as I am deluged with retouching with work files sitting on my Photoshop desktop. I expect to post more as I get past my immersion in most of the mass of current projects like starting on the quasi-logical Win-10. It always finds new ways to cause me trouble. All I really need to do is go out and buy a couple thousand in new software when it all worked on Windows - 7. That appears to be the actual answer.
Typically, when I get out here, I trek south of the farm to Mac Lake when skies start to build. Otherwise I will look for other detail shots at the farm. Clouding is likely to be giving me a break for now though it could really start to envelope the entire sky. What did this sky portend for the afternoon?
The Ag Museum was open to get to the McIntosh Lake Loop Trail. Hmm, I just might try it on the remaining day. I can't simply just hang around the Museum. I have some neighbors who do nothing more than hang around. Perhaps a small degree of exercise? I can only stand to sit behind the monitor for a small while while self-distancing. I saw Agent Orange's daily Donnievid-19 video splash of lies and enacted immediate self-distancing from that too.
As I related a while back on my Prairie Art Series, this is another bigly tribute series to Nebraska for having to disband their fish and game commission because their duck died. Mac Lake ducks are snuffling around the corn crib door. Other than that, I got in a good walk, if spoiled by detritus and dead stuff. I filled in the park attendant about the Dickens barn history and headed down the path to Mac Lake. The prairie dogs at the raptor feeding center by the lake are always worth watching for predation. HA! I've seen ravens clean up scraps behind baldies.

Day 350/366 On a day when I feel far short of awesome, it's very nice to look up and see a card that my friend sent to me the other day :-) So this pic is for anyone needing reminding of their awesomeness.

Today's story and sketch "by me", started mid morning while enjoying a Moon Pie and hot cup of Ovaltine, with little Marshmallows on top, Which is a very nutritious mid morning pickmeup snack, guaranteed to improve your lighting quick reflexes, if you happen to want and maintain lighting quick reflexes, you should consider becoming a member of the "MCPPOE", Man Cave Posse Protectors Of Earth society. Like our newest member Cosdick one of Cosmos brothers, who is proving to be an excellent crash site investigator. I sent Cosdick to a crash site as soon as I received a call from the "FAA" Flying Aliens Association, that a spacecraft was down. you see him at the site of another pilotless flying saucer, that surely be proven to have had an XP22 Comfy Jelly Seat, which dissolved it's occupant. Above you see Cosmo arriving in his Interdimensional Stratolounger, to make sure Cosdick does not come in contact with the jellitinized pilots DNA, until next time taa ta the Rod Blog.

Coffee. How I love you oh so very, very much.
I need it this morning. Last night, was up too late watching the damn Food Network. Every time we turned around, some awesome show (Alton Brown!) popped up and forced our eyes to remain bugged out and open.
So, today, this. Coffee. Mmm.
Oh, and this may one one of the thinnest DOF's I've ever dealt with, what with it being the very edge of a coffee filter.

Rattled by the presence of an approaching East Yorkshire driver who I'm sure had no ill intention as I meandered around the ALX, as well as having prior concerns about the rain, I had to rush this one, I'm afraid. Interestingly, we seem to have acquired a contract for this new 'Demand-Responsive Transit' system named 'JustGo' that operates out of North Lincolnshire, requiring the use of six Elloughton-based Sprinter minibuses taken from Go-Ahead London's own unsuccessful DRT service in their Sutton borough. Of course, it would seem that they did not arrive from Hants & Dorset Trim in time for the launch, so luckily being a Go-Ahead company, we took a handful of the Oxford Bus Company's own Sprinters from their own... erm... unsuccessful DRT system. Oh dear oh dear. If that isn't a bad omen, I don't know what is.
Brought down here on loan to cover for unfinished vehicles, the Oxford Bus Company's 973, a 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with a City 45 body, is seen here at the front of the Anlaby Road depot now stripped of its branding after the late arrival of a properly-branded ‘JustGo’ vehicle and likely awaiting a return back down the M1 in due course for the City of Oxford. Or, if not there, to parts unknown across the Go-Ahead Group. To be honest, I don't see the point of launching a DRT system in the middle of a pandemic while buses from both batches have literally come from other failed DRT operations.
I just made this box from the DIY package and instant comfort it does provide! Exactly what I needed today! Comfort Pocket Boxes are by Kim Welling. And yes co-incidentally my nailpolish does match the lettering on the box ;) Blogged

I've been procrastinating and avoiding my planned photoshoots for this project, partially because they're embarrassing and because I'm slightly worried someone will grab my camera and tripod when I'm not looking. Mostly the former.
This is a silly shot inspired by a few different photos I've seen while perusing Instagram. No religious allegory intended.
I used a chair to stand on and jump off of, but by the time the shutter went off I was nearly on the ground again. I probably could have jumped higher than this without any support. I do have a wireless remote shutter, but it's been giving me issues lately and I'm trying not to rely on it as much. It works perfectly for taking photos, the problems start when I take it off the camera, and the solution for fixing said camera problems is really annoying.
I shot this in a park so the background was a little busy, fixed it up in post. I need to take more shots of skies and things to use as composites later, despite filling in the gaps the background here is still very boring.
