19/365 - I went to Pick Me Up for dinner after I got my nails done. Ken (my nail tech) refused to do any design and since I can't hang with a french manicure he decided to go with natural this round. I wish I would've known about how delicious PMU's tea was waay before now. Today was such a slow slow day.

Working with Studio Emmi, About Signs produced a vast array of graphics including supergraphics, wayfinding & title blocks in a mixture of digitally printed/cut vinyl & standard vinyl graphics. The graphics were applied to a mixture surfaces in the building from specially built walls & structures, glass, brick, stairs & even floors to give visitors the best wayfinding experience whilst enjoying the show.
Evening Tweed were recently asked to curate a space in Pick Me Up - Graphic Arts Fair @ the prestigious Somerset House, London.
Jez, Owen, Sarah, Tom and myself created this 'Country Manor' room in which to exhibit and sell our work.
The fair is taking place from 23rd April - 3rd May 2010.

Tonight sees the opening night of Pick Me Up, the UK's first contemporary Graphic Art fair, at London's beautiful Somerset House (invite above is designed by Anthony Burrill).
Alongside the brand new print commissioned especially for the show I will be exhibiting a selection of both commercial and personal work with some pieces, previously unavailable, for sale.
The private view is strictly invite only but the show opens to the public tomorrow showcasing work from some of the best practitioners around including the lovely PeepShow, Melvin Galapon, Mr Bingo, Erin Petson, Jesse Auersalo, Siggi Eggertsson, Alex Trochut and many many more. Emily Forgot will also be giving a short talk with Glug at the event.

The UK has one of the highest 'fear of crime' rates in Europe - the overall crime rate has been dropping for decades, yet the fear of it climbs remorselessly ever higher. Part of the explanation for this apparent contradiction must belong to the media - especially tabloid newspapers and magazines such as this... they feed our voyeuristic fascination with crime.
Taken while standing in a queue at a local supermarket for the greater understanding of my criminology students. So... interesting essay question... "Fear of crime produces more ill effects in society than crime itself. Discuss." Answers on a (very large) postcard to HM Government, Whitehall, London.
