explore has been lovin' me lately. it's weird because i went so long with NO photos at ALL in explore and now, it seems like every other one is in it. i don't understand. haha.
Laos - Piana delle Giare
Fra i luoghi più enigmatici del Laos ci sono I campi dell'altopiano Xieng Khouang, nei dintorni di Phonsavan, letteralmente disseminati di grandi giare di pietra risalenti a circa 2000 anni fa. Si calcola che ve ne siano circa 3000 distribuite in 90 siti.
La loro funzione resta avvolta nel mistero Sono state avanzate diverse teorie in merito Si è ipotizzato che fossero dei sarcofagi oppure dei forni crematori o monumenti simbolici a seganalare una sepoltura. Alcuni sostengono invece che fossero vasi per la fermentazione del vino o per la conservazione del riso,... insomma non si è ancora arrivati ad una conclusione certa.
Oggi solo tre di questi siti sono stati quasi completamente sminati e sono aperti al pubblico. Il mistero delle giare si intreccia., infatti, a quello legato alla cosiddetta “guerra segreta” ad opera degli dagli Stati Uniti negli anni 60 e 70 che trasformò il Laos nel paese più bombardato della storia. Ad appena 50 km, infatti, si trova il confine con il Vietnam ed il famigerato “sentiero di Ho Chi Min” utilizzato dai Vietcong durante la guerra del Vietnam. Tutta questa zona è costellata di cumuli carbonizzati di bunker e crateri lasciati dalle bombe e tutto il paesaggio circostante è in gran parte arido e privo di vegetazione per gli effetti dei diserbanti utilizzati durante la guerra. Si calcola che i soli Stati Uniti eseguirono circa 580.000 missioni di bombardamento nel solo Laos durante la guerra, con una media di due tonnellate di esplosivo per ogni abitante. Circa il 30% di quegli ordigni è ancora inesploso.

Preparazione di una risaia
Come accade per tutte le specie coltivate sin dall’antichità, è difficile precisare l’esatta zona di provenienza del riso quasi certamente originario dell’Estremo Oriente, dove ancora oggi vivono due tipi di riso selvatico.
Le prime notizie certe sulla coltivazione del riso risalgono al 2800 a.C. Recenti scoperte archeologiche hanno stabilito che anche sulle assolate colline della penisola indocinese questa attività era in atto nello stesso periodo, grazie alla realizzazione dei famosi terrazzati che rappresentano una delle più geniali e pittoresche soluzioni inventate dall’uomo per vincere i dislivelli naturali.

Parco Nazionale Torres del Paine - Salto Grande
Un gigantesco incendio sta distruggendo uno dei parchi naturali più belli al mondo: sono almeno undicimila gli ettari distrutti nella riserva di Torres del Paine, nella Patagonia cilena. Difficili gli interventi aerei, anche a causa del forte vento.
Il governo cileno ha inviato sul posto circa seicento persone tra pompieri, specialisti del Genio e guardie forestali, impegnati nel disperato tentativo di riportare le fiamme sotto controllo con l'aiuto di quattro aerei e un elicottero. "Stiamo affrontando una situazione estremamente complessa, uno scenario estremo", ha detto Vicente Nunez, responsabile dell'Onemi, la locale Protezione Civile. Il movimento ecologista 'Accion Ecologica' ha criticato duramente le autorità,definendo "lenta" la risposta all'emergenza e contrapponendola alla rapidità con cui sono state stroncate le recenti proteste studentesche.
Secondo il ministro dell'Ambiente cileno, Maria Ignacia Benitez,ci vorranno tra i 30 e i 50 anni per rimediare ai danni causati dalle fiamme. E' partita un'indagine per fare luce sulle cause dell'incendio, che potrebbe essere scaturito dalla negligenza di un turista.

El actual edificio, es la tercera reencarnación del mismo, ya que fue destruido por varios incendios. Organisé pour la première fois en 1939, le Bol d’O de Genèver est devenu la plus importante régate du Monde en bassin fermé. Grande fête populaire nautique, le Bol d’Or Mirabaud est désormais aussi l’une des grandes classiques du calendrier international des régates. Chaque année, des champions venus de toute l’Europe se retrouvent sur la ligne de départ en compagnie de près de six cents voiliers.
Ermita de san Jorge
Se inspira fielmente en los templos clásicos. Es de estilo neoclasico. Tambíen se la conoce como ""El Partenón"", por estar edificada a la manera de un templo de orden corintio.
Mandada construir en 1890 por los duques de Santo Mauro, que igualmente mandaron construir el Palacio de Hornillos que se encuentra al lado.
Es una iglesia muy interesante dada la escasez de monumentos neoclásicos puros en Cantabria.

C'est est une espèce de sauriens de la famille des Lacertidae. En français elle est nommée **Lézard vert occidental..!**
Je vous explique comment j'ai fait cette photo..!
approche délicate à plat ventre, (j'avais 70ans) jusqu'à ~80 cm et avance de l'APN à bout de bras jusqu'à ~20 cm de lui.. et sans aucun bruit..car c'est le bruit qui le fait s'enfouir comme une flèche.. il faut savoir qu'il est assez myope et ne distingue que des ombres..mais si l'ombre passe trop vite sur lui, il s'enfouit également...le bruit du déclencheur le fait souvent aussi partir... mais il faut savoir que certains sujets plus curieux sont moins farouches que d'autres surtout tout au début des premières sorties où ils sont encore souvent engourdis et à moitié endormis... le meilleur moment de la journée pour les photographier est le soir 10 minutes avant que les rayons du soleil quittent l'emplacement où ils se réchauffent..je pense que l'angle à ce moment là est le plus propice au réchauffement de leur pile interne..qui est nécessaire à leur survie..ayant quand même passé plusieurs mois sous terre à l'ombre.

A small town in the province of Lleida which sits at the foot of the Sierra del Tallat mountains, in the valley of Maldanell. Its origins date back to a Cistercian monastery which came to be the most important female monastery of the Catalonian-Aragonese Crown.
The monastery was founded in the 12th century and when the Trento Council decided that female monasteries must not be left abandoned, the inhabitants of the area built a village around it. At present, the monastery of Vallbona de les Monjes houses a significant female community. Its architectural wealth lies in the wide variety of styles on display on its walls and exterior, the best of examples of which are the church door, the cloister and the chapter house. Vallbona de les Monges forms part of the so-called Cistercian triangle, along with the monasteries of Poblet (Conca de Barberà) and Santes Creus (Alt Camp).
