Il nucleo più antico di Passignano sul Trasimeno è ancora oggi cinto dalle cerchia di mura medioevali che testimoniano in modo significativo lo sviluppo che il centro subì da piccolo borgo agricolo durante l'Impero romano al castello che, dopo la Signoria di Uguccione II nel 917, venne a lungo conteso fra Arezzo, Perugia e Firenze.
Pochi sono gli edifici storici della cittadina a causa delle distruzioni dovute ai bombardamenti della II guerra mondiale, rimangono infatti la quattrocentesca chiesa di San Rocco e quella eretta solo pochi anni più tardi, di San Bernardino. Da Passignano si raggiunge in pochi minuti di battello l'Isola Maggiore, sul Lago Trasimeno.

il a fait beaucoup trop froid pendant le mois de Mars et en ce mois d'Avril cela continue avec en plus de la pluie et un gros déficit en ensoleillement..! (à se demander où est le réchauffement climatique)

Campagna di Nuragus, piccolo centro ai limiti della provincia di Cagliari il cui territorio di poco più di 2000 ettari fa da cuiscinetto tra le pianure del Campidano e l'aspro territorio della Barbagia.
Sebbene piccolo, qui si trovano numerose testimonianze atcheologiche, con una quarantina di nuraghi, un pozzo sacro e i resti abbandonati dell'antica piazzaforte romana d Valentia.

Mandalay - Kuthodaw Pagoda (Myanmar)
Importante complesso religioso soprannominato "Il libro più grande del mondo" perchè intorno allo stupa centrale, il Maha Lawka Marazein Paya ,si trovano 729 lastre di marmo, custodite ognuna dentro un piccolo stupa bianco, sulle quali è stata incisa, su entrambi i lati, una parte del Tipitaka, il testo sacro del Buddismo Theravada. Riunite insieme queste lastre formano in effetti il libro più grande del mondo.
La prima versione completa del Tipitaka venne messa insiema da un team di 2.400 monaci che incisero il testo nelle lastre di marmo durante il V Sinodo Buddista nel 1872.

Summer is here again ... the heat is on and the blue sea is ever so inviting - time for the lazy days if possible into the blue! To all of you a Happy Summer, for those who are on holidays have fun and rest. Took this shot because it reminds me of childhood ... same beach, same friends and the lovely blues. Here you see the "Se de Lisboa" the ancient cathedral of Lisbon, built upon an old Mosque just after Lisbon was conquered from the Moors in the 12th century A.C. by the english crusader Gilbert de Hastings; the title I gave to this photo is because this monument (today a mixture of many styles) has survived 3 earthquakes - even the big one of 1755. This is a typical view of the bright colours of the city and its amazing light, mixing old and new - this unique combination of styles and colours makes Lisbon a most attractive city to visit.

This photo was taken in June. The monsoon was coming on here in the desert southwest and it made for some spectacular sunsets.

Sedilo - S'Ardia 2009 Explore Jul 8, 2009
L'Ardia è una corsa rituale a cavallo che ogni anno, Il 6 e il 7 luglio, ha luogo a Sedilo, nel centro dell'isola.
Circa un centinaio di cavalieri tra i più abili, spericolati e coraggiosi del paese, si lanciano al galoppo sfrenato da un ripidissimo pendio verso il santuario attraversando lo stretto e pericolosissimo arco che ne costituisce l'accesso.
Non lo fanno per denaro o per vincere dei premi, ma per devozione verso un Santo-Guerriero che in realtà santo non è..., ma che ha conquistato la gente con le sue gesta di uomo e guerriero coraggioso, pronto a battersi per i diritti dei più deboli. Lo chiamano Santu Antinu (San Costantino).
L'Ardia è una tradizione parecchio discussa che molti vorrebbero abolire ma che è fortemente radicata nell'animo dei Sardi del centro dell' isola e, al di là delle polemiche, resta un'esperienza molto forte, che non si dimentica...

Infinitas Graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacias compis a todos y cada uno por sus mensajitos llenos de cariño, por el apoyo, por las palabras llenas de caricias, por estar ahí!!!! estoy bien, solo necesito un tiempo de vacaciones ya que flickr y la fotografía demanda mucho tiempo, no se si es una vuelta, creo que es un tímido asomarse, porque los extraño!
