Soon after we flew into the Galapagos (Baltra) we were picked up at the airport for a quick ten minute bus ride to the dock. Only a couple of minutes later we were on a dingy (Zodiac) on the way to our boat (the Archipel 1). Soon after that the Archipel 1 was on its way to North Seymour Island. About a dozen Frigate Birds, no more than 20 feet (6m) above out heads, began to ride what appeared to be an air pressure wave created by our boat.
Male and female Frigate Birds can be easily differentiated – The adult males have a large bright red pouch on their chest that may be inflated during the breeding season to attract a mate.

En efecto, continúan llegando noticias, teorías y demás conspiranoias. Este año es el 25º aniversario de Warp (qué mejor momento para dar el bombazo), y curiosamente días antes de lo del dirigible, en Reddit un usuario anónimo decía que sobre septiembre habría dos nuevos discos del irlandés, y que son muy buenos. Según dice el usuario, la fuente es un directivo del sello. Además también se publicaría en esas fechas un nuevo LP de Clark. Así que a esperar, dar palos de ciego, investigar y sobre todo, soñar. Como ya circula la imagen por la red emulando a Fox Mulder: I Want to Believe. De momento silencio del sello y de Richard D. James, por lo que sigue siendo un rumor con mucho ruido.

I stayed close to home tonight and took a walk down to check out the Friday night scene in Hermosa Beach; the town where I live in southern California.
There is a club there, Cafe Boogaloo that usually has some pretty good live music most Friday and Saturday nights and I thought I might have a chance to shoot the band or catch a good street portrait.
As I walked up to the club I immediately noticed this sharp-dressed man standing on the sidewalk, talking to one of the doormen. I stood around for no more than a minute when I asked him how he was doing and he answered back: "Just fine; how are you?"
"I'm OK, thanks. Would you mind if I took your picture?", I replied. "No", he said; "Not at all".
I asked him his name and he said it was Fred and so I introduced myself and we shook hands.
As I started to move so as to position him with his back towards the street, I asked him where he was from and he said that he was from Arkansas and that he had been out here since 1954. "The year I was born", I told him.
So we talked a bit more and I asked if he was here for the music. Yes, he told me. He liked to come down and dance with the ladies, so that "... I can show them a good time for the evenings".
At that I gave Fred a quick nod of understanding and asked him; "What else is there"? "Nothing", he smiled with his reply.
With that I stepped back and took this shot and knew that no matter what else I might see the rest of the night that todays 365 image was in the camera.

Teerasej (me), while demontrating how to connect Adobe Flex to PHP service with Adobe Flash Builder 4.
As we were heading towards the cafe for some wine and crepes, we walked through an alley of sorts and stopped to take some pictures of the vines. Of course, the back door opens and out walks the owner with a whole load of dry cleaning, rather surprised to find us both poking around the wall behind his house. He admitted he still only uses film, and feels like a dinosaur saying as much in this day and age of digital. It's possible I made his day when I told him there was not only a huge contingent in the photography world still using film, but in fact also a resurgence of interest in film among those who may have started out using digital.
I've found that just the act of having a camera in your hands can often become the world's greatest ice breaker between people who might otherwise pass by each other without so much as a nod.

This was originally three shots. I bracketed the exposures so that I can get all the detail. However, I hand held the camera instead of putting it on a tripod. When I blended the three shots with HDR software, the trees were blurred because of the slight variations in the trees. So instead of using HDR software, I used Photoshop and three different layers to get the detail of the sky, the trees and the path to come out at the right lighting.

My back has been hurting real bad since yesterday morning during church. So, today I went to the chiropractor and got it fixed. haha. It still hurts a little.. but not too bad. I was supposed to do a shoot with Devon and Christian at the Paramount Art Center in Ashland, Ky. But I told them I could not because of my back. To my surprise, they were at my house when I got home from the chiropractor. So, we did a shoot in my room. It was fun times. I'm still really pumped about shooting at the Paramount though. We're hoping to sometime next week. =]
