LINK = mixtapesessions.com/php/releases.php#MSM1017 / From his brand new “Life and Times” Deluxe Edition LP, Adam Cruz premiere’s “Dancer In The Dark,” his first release as a singer. Cruz’s endearing vocals give this killer jam its charm and sparkle. A song about a shy dancer mustering up the courage to jump into the ‘dancers circle,’ “Dancer In The Dark” is lighthearted, fun and liberating. Cruz’s brilliant beats and rhythms make “Dancer In The Dark” a massive dance floor smash! This tune is a dedication to all of the shy dancers out there who dance like nobody’s watching when nobody’s watching. This is for anyone who has ever gone out dancing, witnessed those fantastic dancers tearing it up in the ‘dancers circle,’ and secretly wished to jump in and join in. “Dancer In The Dark” has already supported by Danny Krivit (718 Sessions, Body-n-Soul), Josh Milan (Honeycomb Music, Blaze), Paul Morrissey (Bozak) and Mickey Blanco (soulfulbeats UK). Dancer, make your mark! Let us see you on the dance floor. Let us see you wow the people. Let us see you shine like before.

Ben and I decided on a spiritual theme for Good Friday so we headed for the Megalong Valley (and battled holiday traffic for 3 hours!) for a mini Jolly Boys Outing (we assumed the other Jolly Boys were at Mass), and managed to grab some of the setting sun over the Oberon Plateau.

The changing scenes in this beautiful valley (which most visitors never explore because of the dirt road) never fail to impress. That's the Cox's River in the valley at the foot of those hills and we are shooting from the Te Awar (The Home in Maori) homestead, courtesy of farmer Pete.

The Western Tiger Swallowtail is a common Swallowtail Butterfly of western North America, and is frequently seen in urban parks and gardens as well as in rural woodlands and riparian areas. It is a large, brightly colored and active butterfly, rarely seen at rest; its wingspan is 7 to 10 cm, and its wings are yellow with black stripes, and in addition it has blue and orange spots near its tail. It has the "tails" on the hind wings that are often found in swallowtails.

The eggs are deep green, shiny and spherical. They are laid singly, on the undersides of leaves. The caterpillars emerge about four days later. They are bright green, with a pair of large yellow eyespots with black and blue pupils. They can feed on the leaves of a variety of trees, and the predominant foodplant varies across their range; trees commonly used include cottonwood, willow, quaking aspen and many others. The caterpillars molt 5 times, eventually reaching a length of up to 5cm before pupating. In summer, the butterfly can emerge as little as 15 days after the caterpillar pupated, but when the caterpillar pupates in the fall, the butterfly will not emerge until the spring. The chrysalis is green in summer and dark brown in winter, and looks like a piece of wood. Butterflies emerge from winter chrysalids between February and May, the date depending on the temperature, so they are seen earlier in the more southerly and more coastal parts of their range. The adult females lay up to a hundred eggs in total. The males often congregate, along with other species of swallowtail at pools and along streams and rivers; they drink from the water and mud, extracting minerals as well as moisture.

The normal range of the Western Tiger Swallowtail covers much of western North America, from British Columbia to North Dakota in the north to Baja California and New Mexico in the south. Individuals occasionally turn up east of this range; however, in general, in eastern North America, it is replaced by the similar Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Papilio glaucus.

Like the other tiger swallowtails, the Western Tiger Swallowtail was formally classified in genus Pterourus, but modern classifications all agree in placing them within Papilio.

Just imagine...

Having the skills to heal yourself and family naturally.

Feeling safe, confident, secure and knowledgeable in making your own herbal home remedies.

Having more energy than you've ever had before and feeling healthier.

Living your life totally stress-free.

NOT feeling overwhelmed or confused when you read an herb book.

Saving money by learning to make your OWN herbal remedies in the safety of your own kitchen.

Learning to become a home medicine maker or family herbalist.

Realizing that elusive answer to your ailment might be right there in your kitchen cupboard.

The only thing holding you back is your conviction that learning how to use the common plants you see everywhere around you daily to make your own herbal medicine is too huge a task to tackle. Well I've got GREAT news for ya...

I have just completed The Family Herbalist online training program with Dr John R. Christopher's School of Natural Healing. Dr John R. Christopher was one of America's foremost medical herbalists and The Family Herbalist course is the first step on my road to becoming a full-fledged Master Herbalist - it is a prerequisite to any other course offered by The School of Natural Healingand you have three months to complete the program.

[caption id="attachment_48" align="alignleft" width="70" caption="Herbal Training"][/caption]

You have two options for tuition for this course. Regular tuition for the home study course with all materials shipped to your home is a one time fee of $495.00. If you prefer to take the course online, the regular $495.00 price is reduced to just $295.00. No materials are shipped to your home as all materials are online. I chose the online version of the course for obvious reasons, but I could also have opted for the Family Herbalist correspondence course but I figured I wanted to take the cheaper option just to access the quality of their training program as I still have the ambition of going all the way to becoming a Master Herbalist with them if I am satisfied with the first course.

For an astonishing $100 further discount on the online Family Herbalist course's $295 fees, click here: School of Natural Healing. (You can only get this discount by following the links on this site to the Official school website.)

Boy was I glad I chose to register with the School of Natural Healing for the program! With the correspondence course, all the course materials would have been mailed to me after registration and I would have been mailing my course work back and forth as I complete each of them, that looks like a lot of headache to me. On the other hand, the online Family Herbalist course is a lot less stressful and it suit me all the way to the ground.

The training website is so well designed and works so well in delivering such a memorable training experience to the registered students that if its possible, you would have found me sleeping on their front page everyday. It features all the natural healing training programs offered by the school but each student has access only to the particular program they are registered to do. The programs start from Level 100 - Family Herbalist, which is a compulsory program for everybody, even those who wish to go onto more advanced training programs later.

Even if you don't go on to become a Master Herbalist, my experience with the Family Herbalist course is that its so amazingly comprehensive that I found myself dealing with all diseases and ailments of my family and friends like a seasoned holistic practitioner even before I completed the program! What I learned on the program is indeed an eye-opener.

[caption id="attachment_69" align="alignleft" width="200" caption="Herbs For Natural Healing"][/caption]

I have been interested in learning about the use of herbs in healing the body ever since I was a little boy in my village but have never really found the time or opportunity to make this dream a reality until early this year when I came across The School of Natural Healing when I stumbled upon one of Dr. Richard Schulze's natural Healingcrusade videos. The ever so controversial and popular Dr. Schulze was one of Dr. John Christoper's many students.

Dr Christopher's School of Natural Healing's Family Herbalist Course is designed to empower you with the knowledge and confidence required to tackle almost any health issue. The Family Herbalist Course is essential for anyone like me who have always wished to take charge of their own health and become more informed, educated, and independent. With this course, I was able to explore important concepts in natural medicine that even the most experienced natural healers need to know for success. At the completion of this course I was sent an impressive certificate as a Family Herbalist.

The Family Herbalist course is carefully designed to help you to:

• feel confident in taking care of yourself and family

• become more self-sufficient

• save thousands of dollars by being your own primary health provider

• become a great resource for family, friends and neighbors

• understand what foods help the body fight infection

• maintain a healthy lifestyle

• lose weight and keep it off

• learn to reduce high blood pressure or cholesterol naturally

• learn how to have a safe and healthy pregnancy

[caption id="attachment_80" align="alignleft" width="180" caption="Healing Hands"][/caption]

By the time I completed my program, I was busy coming up with my very own herbal formulas! I have been plagued with teeth and gum problems since I was a child and now I have been losing my precious teeth one after the other. One of the first herbal product I put together was a tooth powder based on one of Dr Christopher's famous formulas. It is designed to stop tooth decay, extinguish mouth odor, cure gum disease, stop teethe and gum bleeding, strengthen teeth and gum and kill any bacteria in the mouth. Since I've been using my tooth powder, I've now waved bye-bye to my long-standing teeth problem!

The second thing I did was take my wife and myself off our high blood pressure tablets - Amlodipine, and replaced it with a well crafted herbal formula which has given us so much relieve from all the side effects of this drug we've been using for almost ten years. I discovered there are so many herbs that does wonders naturally for the blood pressure as well as all the other body systems (how else would I have ever known this). Then I proceeded to find some natural solution to my type 2 diabetes which I've been saddled with for the past eleven years. Now I have no more worries about how low or high my blood glucose is because I've finally found the key to unlock that riddle!

Medicinal plants have been used for millions of years by our fore-fathers to keep us humans healthy. These healing herbs are all around us every day in every place you care to look - in our spice cupboards, refrigerators, gardens, and lawns. The art, craft and science of using herbs as medicine has stood the test of time and continues today with The School of Natural Healing.

The School of Natural Healingis dedicated to offering excellence in herbal education through high quality materials and assignments that not only tell you, but show you how to use herbs. Materials supplied online with the course

dambordvlieg of grauwe vleesvlieg (Sarcophaga carnaria)

Viatge a Ítaca - Lluis Llach

VIAJE A ÍTACA

que sean muchos los días de verano;

llegar allí, he aquí tu destino.

Mas no hagas con prisas tu camino;

Sin ellas, jamás habrías partido;

I'm all washed out by the side of the road.

Broken bones Matilda left a note and a rose.

Saying "Baby honey child, I loved you so long but you deserve much better than me"

So I'm just burning all around.

All the miles in the road.

And I'm never going back.

And I'm never going home.

I've been gone too long.

I've been less right than wrong.

I've lost so much blood in the falling out.

And I lit a fire that wouldn't go out.

Until it consumed the walls and roof of this house.

Until all I remember was burning away.

And all I remember, you're burnin' away.

See for 10 long years I've been hustling around.

Tryin' to wash the sins and sweat from my brow.

Just trying to find a better life for me and my own.

Just some rest for these tired working fingers.

But nobody never gonna tell you the way.

You gotta figure it out boys.

And suffer the rain, and the fools in the night, and the heat of the day.

When all you ever really wanted was for someone to understand.

And I lit a fire that wouldn't go out.

Until it consumed the walls and roof of this house.

Until all I remember was burning away.

And all I remember, you're burnin' away.

Well don't you take it so hard and baby don't you cry.

You cross your hard heart and hope to die.

Don't you tell me no more lies, you lied all the time.

Don't you tell me no more lies, you lied every night.

And you're sugar and spice, and everything nice.

You got Monroe hips, your poison lips and knives.

And your sugar and spice, and everything nice.

You got open wounds in a young boy's pride.

[2x]

And I lit a fire that wouldn't go out.

Until it consumed the walls and roof of this house.

Until all I remember was burning away.

And all that you left me you're burning away.

Well don't you take it so hard and baby don't you cry.

You cross your hard heart and you hope to die.

Don't you tell me no more lies, you lied all the time.

Don't you tell me no more lies, you lied every night.

Time, time, tickin' away

Time, time, tickin' away

(All over your face)

Time, time, tickin' away

(All over my face)

Le troisième arc-en-ciel dans la même soirée! - The third rainbow in the same evening! On July 1, on at least three occasions there was sunshine while it rained. I saw three rainbows, the first around 6:15pm, the second around 7:05pm and the third around 8:35pm, each time lasting several minutes. The next evening, at around 7:30pm on July 2, there was again a rainbow for about 15 minutes! This time, I went outside to get better views. Album Rainbow - Arc-en-ciel set. A rainbow will be seen differently by each person.

Ok...so, last night I took a bit of time and went through my flickr account looking at my photos from the time I started up until now. Just mentally noting what I have improved upon and things I still need to improve, etc. I also noticed that I used to take a lot more self portraits and random photos of things all around me. For some reason, since I had my surgery last July I have not been doing this. I don't know why. I just haven't. Maybe I've been uninspired. Maybe I just got caught up in things and didn't stop to realize things in MY life are important too. I dunno, i've just kind of been busy, I guess. Anyhoo. I also realized that I have friends on here. Many whom I've never met before, but hope to meet one day. So, today I decided I am going to do better. I'm gonna appreciate things around me more and share them with the people that aren't able to be here first hand...

Thank you to those few of you that have hung out and supported me through throwing up random photos and my funks and such. You have no idea what your support and kindness has done for me. :) So, here's to 2010 to. The year of the new me. Bring it on.

Also, I'll be flying to Cleveland, OH this coming week. So, expect some major snow photos from this Southern girl! :)

CARLOS 'BOTONG' FRANCISCO (1912 - 1969)

Ang Aguinaldo

Estimate: PHP 8,500,000 - 9,500,000

Signed (lower right) and undated (c. 1938)

Oil on canvas

71 x 96.5 cm (28 x 38 in)

Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued and signed by Victor Puyat, former President of the Botong Francisco Foundation, Makati City

National Artist Carlos “Botong” Francisco was a transformative figure in Philippine art, shifting from the romanticized Amorsolo style to modernism alongside Victorio Edades and Galo Ocampo, thus reshaping Philippine artistic expression.

‘Ang Aguinaldo,’ an early work by Botong, features a pre-colonial Philippine scene with a pregnant woman and a warrior bowing to a seated leader. The title, meaning "gift" or "present" in Spanish, contrasts with the traditional setting. Created before World War II, this painting reflects Botong's early style and anticipates his later murals.

A similar artwork appeared on the back cover of Graphic Magazine’s December 1938 Christmas edition. Despite the resemblance, differences in the details suggest that the magazine image and the oil on canvas painting are distinct works. Salcedo Auctions posits that these are variations on the same theme, given Botong's practice of creating similar works in different media.

The provenance of ‘Ang Aguinaldo’ is well-documented. Botong sold it to Gene Cabrera in 1938, who later sold it to Jaime Ledesma in 1975. Ledesma received a Certificate of Authenticity from Demetrio Diego, a prominent artist and collaborator with Botong. Suzano “Jun” Gonzales, a noted conservator, conducted minimal conservation. In 1979, Multinational Investment Bancorporation acquired the painting through East Asia Corporation for Arts & Antiquities.

A recent assessment of the painting by Victor Puyat, former President of the Botong Francisco Foundation, who knew the artist’s apprentice Salvador Juban personally, reaffirms the painting's authenticity. Puyat, who has graciously issued a Certificate of Authenticity for ‘Ang Aguinaldo’ notes that Botong’s distinctive technique in depicting the human body is evident and would be challenging to replicate. He adds that the faces in the painting, characterized by soft, roundish features and expressions, align with Botong’s known style. While the color palette differs from his later works, he likewise mentions that it is consistent with his early pieces, such as ‘Siesta Under the Mango Tree’ from 1938, and that the physical condition of the painting, along with its documented provenance, supports its status as a notable early masterpiece by Botong Francisco.

something about this city that i will always admire

even when i hate it

even though i know the time has come for me to move on

something about the ugly is awful pretty

something about the noise sometimes sounds alright

mismatched, dinged & scratched,

stinky, kinky,

exhausting, relentless

accosting, expensive

agressive, outrageous

ecclectic, contagious.

something about this city lives in me

something, always something to turn your head and see.

30 Songs in 30 Days (17)

In the City, by the Eagles

www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqy4sDWE0zI

Somewhere out there on that horizon

Out beyond the neon lights

I know there must be something better

But theres nowhere else in sight

Its survival in the city

When you live from day to day

City streets dont have much pity

When youre down, thats where youll stay

In the city, oh, oh.

In the city

I was born here in the city

With my back against the wall

Nothing grows, and life aint very pretty

No ones there to catch you when you fall

Somewhere out on that horizon

Faraway from the neon sky

I know there must be something better

And I cant stay another night

In the city, oh, oh.

In the city

I had no idea how to process this photo. So I didn't really -- just a few very minor adjustments. Feel free to download and give it a go. I'd love to see what others come up with. I really just like the scene.

Fire & Ice Tour: Covington KY, Madison Theatre 3/9. I think it's awesome that the cincy/cov area is getting a whole bunch of show now. If it was last year, the area would probably have never gotten this tour to come through here. Really happy I got to shoot this tour. Second time shooting WIM and man they are hitting tough waters. They are loosing members left and right. I thought Doriano did an awesome job filling in vocals but the bands entire performance just wasnt there. I really with I could have seen them with Tyler C. Enjoy.
