Speciale Workshop-trekking fotografico delle Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Le Tre Cime di Lavaredo sono uno dei “monumenti” delle Dolomiti, il nostro tour prevede di visitarle da ogni prospettiva, offrendo cosi un tour fotografico unico attorno a queste montagne uniche e affascinanti. Insieme alle Dolomiti di Sesto e del Cadore che le circondano questi monti formano un quadro che ha pochi eguali nelle Alpi e probabilmente nel mondo. Nei due giorni percorreremo due trekking in modo da poter fotografare con le luci migliori le calde pareti di queste montagne, cercando sempre lo scatto inedito, personale, descrivendo in stile reportage l’ambiente di questi luoghi. Il Trekking delle Tre Cime di Lavaredo a differenza degli altri prevede l’assistenza di due fotografi professionisti in modo da seguire meglio il gruppo che verrà diviso di due fra chi desidera fare più trekking e chi si vuole dedicare più alla fotografia ed è già esperto.

I love going to zoos, aquarium and other places where animals from around the globe can be found. I am an active member of several zoos and aquariums and visit frequently. I try to use my photographic knowledge and skills to capture the behavior or personality of these animals. On my last visit to the Greater Los Angeles Zoo, I concentrated on several animals taking multiple images to see if I could bring out their personality. I call the series "Zoo Stories" and the image above and six that follow focus on one of my favorite animals the "zebra". I will be posting subsequent series of other animals that I visited over the next few days.
GREVY'S ZEBRA
Physical Characteristics
The long-legged Grevy's zebra is the biggest of the wild equids. It is more closely related to the wild ass than the horse (whereas the plains zebra is more closely related to the horse). One can distinguish the Grevy’s zebra from the plains zebra by its larger size, big rounded ears, white unmarked belly, and finer black stripes. An endangered species, Grevy’s zebras are only found in northern Kenya and south eastern Ethiopia.
Zebra foals are born with a coat that is stripped reddish-brown. This gradually darkens to black. Young zebras also have a dorsal mane extending all the way to the base of the tail, which can be raised when the animal is excited and lies flat when it is relaxed.

I don't wake up in time for sunrises...and there isn't much of a sunset during the winter here in chicago, not from the ground level in the downtown area anyway. Decided I'd catch the sunset rays off of the riverfront buildings.
Didn't dress warm enough, snapped 10 shots or so and had to run back into my car :P Happened to catch the train running by my scene before I left.
This is a detail of Oporto taken from the boat that following the river arrives till the ocean.
On the other side of the river there are the Porto, the famous wine, liquor distillery and shops.They show their brand name and in front of them there are restaurants or bar where taste the exceptionality of the different kind of the liqueur.
As you can see, Porto is really charming, really colorful, with a bit of disorder but precise confusion that makes it unique.
This quarter, called Ribeira was called world heritage by UNESCO, is a labyrint of cobbled paving street, really steep and shady!

I learned more from Calvin and Hobbes than I did throughout my entire high school career. Bill Watterson, the author of Calvin & Hobbes, taught me that life isn’t as simple as it may seem. There are always greater forces at work.

In one strip taking place in Calvin’s imagination, he finds himself able to walk on the ceiling. He also discovers that although he may no longer answer to gravity, everything else does. His shirt falls down over his eyes and the change falls out of his pockets. He got his wish and he wasn’t happy with it.
This is a common theme throughout the strip: if you try hard enough, you may be able to change the rules to which you must adhere, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the same goes for everyone/everything else. There’s a life lesson in there, somewhere.

Can someone help me please? This database came with microsoft visual web developer 2010. I need to know how to use it. It isn't doing anything when I load it. The database at my school that blocks websites and connects to the printer goes immediately. It scrolls down and uses html codes and what not and then it is finished. We log on. But isn't this php database something I have to load and it inputs everything? or Something like:

Got to head of the stairs, but Madame X was angry now, and quickly flew after me and gave me good swift kick in the you know where… luckily, I landed out in the courtyard safe. A little wounded pride, but at least I wasn’t out standing in the rain soaked park, as I was last spring, with a broken heart..
So, the last week of 52 weeks in B&W demonstrates that
lead to dreams...and ghost stories.
...but that's gonna cost you one penny! There's no free wishes! I tried to get some nice gorgeous candid photos of people in my local mall but that didn't last very long as I was kicked out by one of those mall-cops. Apparently it's against the law to take photos in the mall. Oh well, I'll find another place. So I hope on taking more and more of these shots like Stephan Geyer. Stephan inspired me to do this. Can someone help me please? This database came with microsoft visual web developer 2010. I need to know how to use it. It isn't doing anything when I load it. The database at my school that blocks websites and connects to the printer goes immediately. It scrolls down and uses html codes and what not and then it is finished. We log on. But isn't this php database something I have to load and it inputs everything? or Something like:

La imagen lamentable y parodia de sí misma que The Jesus and Mary Chain ofrecen hoy en día en sus conciertos, con especial mención para su actuación en el Primavera Sound del año pasado, queda lejos de la cima del hipotético ránking Rock Star de todos los tiempos que alcanzaron en sus inicios. No sólo hacían canciones y discos esenciales para entender qué pasaba entonces y para comprender la eclosión posterior del Indie Rock, sino que también ofrecían entrevistas como esta:
Los hermanos Reid y Bobby Gillespie, quién más tarde pasaría a formar parte de Primal Scream, sentados frente a un presentador belga en una televisión del mismo país en 1986. Realicemos un ejercicio de abstracción e ignoremos que, efectivamente, en un extraño giro de los acontecimientos la moda moderna de la segunda década del siglo XXI es la misma que la de mediados de los ochenta. Allí están tres hombres sin nada que perder, convencidos de que son los tíos más grandes que han existido jamás. Y que dicen cosas así sobre que la gente abandone sus conciertos:
Eso no nos preocupa en absoluto. Esa clase de gente… no la queremos en nuestros conciertos. Son estúpidos. No merecen estar allí. No nos preocupa para nada.

Características
Carbonero común (Parus major)El carbonero común es uno de los páridos más fácilmente identificables. Su cabeza y su "corbata" negras y el pecho amarillo, junto con el verde oliváceo, a veces casi azul, de sus alas y cola y sus mejillas blancas amarillentas son rasgos inconfundibles de un carbonero. En las hembras el negro de la banda ventral es menos intenso y la banda misma es más estrecha. El vivo color de su pecho lo distingue de su primo el carbonero garrapinos (Parus ater).
Distribución
Se le puede encontrar en todo el monte peninsular; de hecho ocupa la mayor parte de Europa, donde es sedentario. Allá donde haya árboles, sobre todo caducifolios o mixtos, encontraremos al carbonero común que, aun siendo un ave pequeña, es grande dentro del grupo de los páridos, ya que llega a medir 15 cm de longitud. En las islas baleares encontramos la subespecie Parus major mallorcae.
Ocupan las cajas nido con orificios de más de 3 cm de diámetro y otros lugares de los más pintorescos, como buzones o latas. Como la hembra pone de 10 a 13 huevos y no da abasto para calentarlos todos, el nido es bastante cálido, acolchado con musgo y forrado de plumas y pelos. En la segunda mitad de mayo comienza la incubación por parte de la hembra y dura 13 ó 14 días.
Reproducción
A los 18 ó 20 días de la eclosión los pollos abandonan el hueco, pero siguen con sus padres durante una o dos semanas.
Alimentación
El carbonero común se alimenta de insectos y semillas que abre con su potente pico, sujetándolas con las dos patas.
Su canto se puede confundir con el de otros pájaros porque es un buen imitador. Suele ser repetitivo, vigoroso y marcadamente metálico, de dos o tres sílabas.

This morning, we packed up our stuff, headed to the Mt. Timpanogos trailhead and started hiking at about 12:30am so that we could hike the 7 miles to the 11,750-foot summit by sunrise. Holy cow, what a spectacular view! The blisters on my toes were worth it. I even lugged my new Manfrotto 190XPROB on my shoulder all the way to the top and back.

During my lunch hour today I wandered down to the Water of Leith for some dipper shots. Got a few okay ones but mostly throwaway. On my way back to the office my attention was drawn to loud chirping in the trees at Belford Road and to my delight around 6 Long-tailed tits were hopping about. Out of the corner of my eye I saw two land on a nearby branch and one of them began hanging upside down. It took a second to realise that it was dangling helplessly because its wing had somehow got stuck. Now that I've scrutinised the shots, it would appear that the wing is literally glued to the end of the branch where some sap is.
The poor thing dangled helplessly as the rain started and the wind picked up. Other long-tails landed beside it and looked down in what appeared to be a show of concern. They certainly knew something was wrong. There was lots of anxious tweeting. Eventually the bird managed to pull itself up enough to start pulling away at its wing feather. To no avail at first, and I really thought it was going to end up dying there.
But the story has a happy ending as the wee thing eventually managed to rip its wing free, with minimal damage it would appear. I hope so anyway!
Does anyone know if this is a common occurence. I'm aware that tree sap is extremely sticky and could act like a sort of glue to a delicate feather but surely this kind of thing doesn't happen too often.

In furniture, the Late Classical style popular in Europe in 1835-1850 is known as the Pillar and Scroll style in America. It is characterized by C- and S-curves that were cut into pillars and scrolls as primary visual element. This pair of console tables, offered in separate lots, was influenced by this style as it reached the Philippines decades later. It looks stately and elegant, and one is immediately drawn to the curvaceous scroll supports decorated with turned bosses, and the shapely foliated scroll ornament to the 3-inch thick lower shelf. The corniced double top is attenuated at the bottom and widens to the top, the same archetypal shape found in the Ilocos comoda de poste. The table stands on claw feet at the front. When found in situ, these tables on which the family’s venerated santos were enshrined, sat at either side of the door leading to one of the bedrooms.
Josefa Abaya is a descendant of local hero Isabelo Abaya (1854 - 1900), who despite being from a prominent and rich family founded Espiritu de Candon, the revolutionary faction of the Katipunan in Ilocos Sur. Hoy mostramos a Opistomum bajo la misma luz que rehuye sin tener ojos para verla. Es además, sólo en la oscuridad de la noche y no en cualquier oscuridad, quizá por el silencio sobrecogedor de la noche, en la que se produce su apareamiento.
En el útero de Opistomum crecen hasta tres huevos, pero si en el invierno o en la primavera llegan a formarse más, el útero se desgarra y los huevos se desarrollan entonces en el tejido del cuerpo.
Los huevos de resistencia de verano han de pasar necesariamente un periodo de desecación para poder dar lugar a otros nuevos y pequeños Opistomum.
Como cualquier turbelario, Opistomum, es también un gusano plano y pluricelular cuyos órganos se hayan incluidos en un tejido fundamental que forma una red en su interior, el mesénquima. Poseen boca e intestino, pero carecen de ano. En Opistomum tal y como escribíamos ayer, la boca se abre en el tercio posterior del cuerpo y es a través de esta boca situada sobre el abdomen, a través de la que absorben los restos y vegetales de los que se alimenta.
Muchos turbelarios, además de reproducirse sexualmente y mediante complejos mecanismos, tienen una elevadísima capacidad de autorregenaración de tal forma que cualquier fragmento de su cuerpo, por minúsculo que sea, puede formar a un nuevo organismo clonando al que ha sido su origen. Algunos de estos turbelarios del grupo de las planarias han sido ampliamente utilizados en investigaciones relacionadas con la diferenciación celular por este motivo.
Opistomum vive entre los detritos de las lagunas, casi siempre en lagunas altas de montaña, aunque el ejemplar que mostramos aquí ha venido desde las aguas salobres de los marjales de Peñíscola, en Castellón, donde convive con algunas especies de peces que sólo habitan en este lugar tan particular. La fotografía de Opistomum ha sido realizada a 100 aumentos empleando la técnica de contraste de interferencia.
