This fella, or someone who looked a lot like him, used to sit prominently up high, out in front of the inn which shared his name. When new owners took over, renovated and changed the name of the inn, they put this guy around to the side, named him Petey the Pirate, and posted a sign inviting one and all to take pictures with him. I don't believe he's the original Peg Leg, but he does provide some nostalgia for those of us who remember the inn and its restaurant fondly.
A bit of whimsy, and with both legs in the air. Now, if I could just get one of our local gulls to perch on top of that parrot!

Clothes pegs taking on an unusual pose as soldiers guarding something unseen behind them. Knowing that he has the support of the big guys the little one has dared to take a step forward.
One of the oldest barns in Kansas, the Peg Barn is construction entirely with wooden pegs holding the beams in place. Mahaffie Stage Coach Stop, Olathe, Kansas.
Half-timbered wall of a barn, with a set of nice wooden pegs on which to hang stuff.
My favorite peg usage here:
The right-most peg is used to support and stabilize one electrical wire and thus also the tube which it enters. This is innovative but... :D
Click on the image twice and look at the thermometer. You will see that it was warm; ca. 35C there on the wall in the bright September morning sun.

For some reason each of these photos ended up inExplore, so I decided to put them together as a triptych.
Taking a walk along the River Wye in the Manifold Valley in the Derbyshire Peak District. Not a good drying day. 2017
Hung out to dry on a sunny February day. 2019
I took a similar shot back in 2017, more clothes pegs then but same weather, by the river Wye in Cheedale. 2022
If there are pegs around, then I am very happy to do a ¾ shot. Few places are left in the UK with a reasonable distribution of semaphore signals but Peak Forest and Great Rocks in the Peak District are two such places. May it last! Looking north from Great Rocks towards Peak Forest with two DBS sheds stabled in the distance, Freightliner Shed, 66603, is seen heading south towards Great Rocks signal box on the 6M28 Guide Bridge to Tunstead empty stone hoppers

This covered walkway is supported by what looks a little like a row of tent pegs. They're a lovely deep golden cedar colour, but I though the textures looked better in mono. Produced with the free Google/Nik tools.
So won't you smile for the camera
I know they're gonna love it, Peg

Smile on Saturdays - Clothes Pegs
Thought it was time I started doing the Macro Mondays again, so for this weeks subject of 'Plastic'. I've dug out an old clothes peg - it's been sat around, quite literally gathering dust, for some time, waiting for me to find a use for it - it's somewhat discoloured from when it was in use, but I like the colour, and shape of it. The spring has made for a lovely shadow, too!
